I think it was mentioned in the 2nd-hand speedhack thread that using the Goblin Footprint in that way was considered an exploit by S-E.

yes it is considering multiple ppl have been perma banned for it and my own LS had multiple ppl jailed and warnedOriginally Posted by Lithiani
but like i said i dont think its nescessary if ppl just play smart and have a lvl1 saccer ready to go with a hymnus brd
we did not use the footprint. Just had a bard cast Humus on Him disband and then he bound AV and ran. died rinse repeat
your sac job bound AV? what job? and i assume for this to work AV's wynavs cannot be up or the saccer would die basically right awayOriginally Posted by vahnn
When a BST tries charming something that's uncharmable, the mob becomes bound instead.

If the Wyverns are tied to locking Spell/TP usage, then there's a serious design flaw.
On our last 2 attempts, we were able to lock 2HRs by zerging, but spells/TP were never locked. However, once 2HRs are locked, there's no way to call more wyverns so you're basically fucked.
Considering AV is a DRG job, I am almost positive that the Wynavs hold the key to locking his abilities. Out of Curiosity, what state were the Wynavs in (all alive, all dead, some alive/dead/kited) when you hit the 95% mark and noticed his abilities stopped? It could be as simple as making sure all 3 Wynav are dead when his HP hits 95%, otherwise you only partially lock his abilities if some Wynav are left alive.
Just so we can cover up a few other "theories":
Did AV use all 15 jobs 2HRs (at least once) before you locked his abilities? Some people theorized that "triggering" all 15 2HRs had some significance in the outcome of the fight.
This is starting to get really annoying. We've fought AV enough that we can actually damage him while he's still casting spells/TP (as long as no 2HRs), but once he started casting Meteor at 80% HP (for seemingly no reason) we were doomed.
yes becuz everyone with bst lvl 0 obviously knows that failing charm means its binds the targetOriginally Posted by Jooeetheplatypus

Just curious, but in the cases where AV stopped using magic as well as 2-Hours what was the state of the Wynavs when you started to zerg AV. Did you kill the Wynavs before the assault on AV or did they die during the AV assault. We killed 4 sets of Wynavs and after the 4th set died AV was 100% and then in 90 seconds we cut it to 89% and noticed it stopped 2 hours. I'm just starting to wonder if the Wynavs need to be alive when you breach a certain damage threshold ( 98%, 97%, etc? ) and killing them after this seals all his abilities.

are you two dating?
Fail to charm a charmable mob = the mob chases after you (example, antlions/rabbits/bees)
Fail to charm a non charmable mob = the mob stays bound (example, goobues/morbol/AV)

I was sacing our AV on BST with charm, and it wouldnt stay bound for more than a nano-second (if it even bound at all) >.>. Anyway, regarding the write-up.
When we popped our AV, we had about 10BLMs. We started off having the BLMs all time nuke on one of the wyverns. At about 30% of their cast time, a ranger from the main alliance (not with BLMs) shadowbound AV, thus seperating the AV from the wyverns as the wyverns died. Then we had AV all alone, and proceded to zerg him down to 92%. During that whole time, he continued to use spells and abilities, but i never seen a 2 hour go off. We only had about 25 people and 1WHM, so it didnt last too long, but it didn't really "lock" either. Its my understanding that when it locks, all it does is melee attack. amirite?
So what I want to know is.... whats the trick to getting AV to pop?
We just killed our 7th JoL last night and still 0 signs of AV. I see others have had him pop 2 or 3 times, I'm guessing with not many more JoL kills.
Do people actually do things to get him to pop, or is it as I figured a pure lottery pop that we just never are lucky with?
our 1st popped on our 4th JoL.
