The Kindred disappeared from Xarcabard after the Shadow Lord died though, they reappeared when the game came out and the SL was being resurrected. What I haven't yet seen is an explanation for wtf is going on at Uleguerand, where you have full-blown dynamis Kindred running loose. It's mentioned in the ule map storyline but even though I've run up and down the mountain 4938698629 times I've never taken the time to complete the quest :/

    lolCoP spoiler

I remember in one of the CoP CS talking about that expidition to Xarca when Volker's uncle killed that girl and the galka that became the shadow lord that they all went crazy beacuse Promathia was influencing them in some way, Prishe said something like, "you would go mad too if you had the twilight god whispering in your ear" and the moblins all think they're the children of Promathia so I thougt he was the "divinity of darkness"

I always thought they were called back into the world from Dynamis. The reason I thought the Kindred are the remnants of the Zilart is a combination of what Yve'Noile says at the end of ZM6 about the feedback created at the Vahzl Crag, and the information in one of the windy cutscenes that once the Kindred were once something else entirely.

/shrug I simply assumed that the close location was too much of a coincidence, and Kindred are what you get if you wrench all contact with light away from a Zilart.

P.S. The Ule map quest doesn't really say much, if anything, about the inhabitants of the range :/

I thought FFXI's timeline was more of:

    AERY ERA

    5 B.F. - Fafnir is claimed.
    0 A.E. - Fafnir pops.
42 A.E. - Fafnir is slain. Ridill drops.
44 A.E. - Beastmaster wins lot on Ridill.
    47 A.E. - FFXI begins.

I originally thought Dynamis was the demons home too, but I now believe there is somekind of hell in Vana'diel.

Would make sense, with Diabolos being the "Devil" and ruler of sorts in that world.

I really want to know more ties between the Empire of Aht Urhgan, and the mainlands... that "Imps where uses as Shadowlord's spies" bullshit doesn't cut it. -_-; Guess I gotta wait on S-E's slowass.

Ahh I see what your saying.

I wonder how they'd add BLU, COR, and PUP to the Dyna Storyline if they ever do.

I've been thinking about Temenos for a bit. Dynamis apart of Limbus, as Limbus is the name of the group of dimensions outside Vana'diel. We know that when someone dies, their soul goes to the mothercrystals. Maybe the two newest zones of Limbus are just that. A world of light for the good and a world of darkness for the bad that await those who die and are sent to Al'Teiru's crystal. Then again, it could just be some towers with unexplained monsters on top of some emptiness full of unexplained monsters. I find it funny that FFXI's end-game like the Shijin, pretty much all HNMs but Vrtra, and Jailers have less storyline that WoW's molten core. It doesn't quite make sense.

Temenos is Ou'Hpat Obelisk (its mentioned in a CS). Apollyon is Promyvion-Al'taieu.

Yes, thanks for telling me something I know, but explain to me why Ou'Hpat Obelisk is in another dimension or why both are filled with monsters from all around Vana'diel, oh wise one?

The simple explanation is: When the endgame crew were asked to think up HNMs for FFXI, they misread the memo as saying FFIX.

Double Light in Temenos ("Heaven"), Double Darkness in Apollyon ("Hell")... I also remember Apollyon was named "Lower Promyvion," back when people pos-hacked into Al’Taieu. I also don't know why the fuck mobs would be in either zone, or how Nag'molada got the designs for the Omega and Ultima he used on the warships, if the prototypes are deep inside these zones...

    Mmmmm cinnamon swirl.

Oh sorry, distracted for a sec... See, promathia is not such a bad guy really. Actually he was like altana's best friend and altana decided that he was cool enough to let know that there was going to be this big flood ya see and this flood was gonna go SWISH SWISH and kill everything because everybody was becoming like FFXIFlux and it was like but altana wanted it to be like so she told el prom (in spain they call him that) that she was going to flood everything and he had to save the world and everything in it which really made prom go wtffffffffff but he was like hell, altana is a hottie, maybe i'll get laid after this is all over and so he went and gathered a shitton of random dudes and dudettes and told them to get onto altaieu, cuz altaieu floats ya see, but then altana decided LOL FUCK U and didnt flood the place so el prom went WTF and sent the mobs to the obelisk and the promyvion and was like "Ult my man, Om my man, keep these guys company while they sit here for eternity and set up some fucked up method of getting to you with chips in magically appearing chests or some shit" "word promo" so they like turned those places into crazyass places with enhanced mandies, sphinxes, and worst of all MOTHERFUCKING SLIMES IN A TOWER THAT WOULD BE GREAT FOR A MELEEBURN OTHERWISE which pissed altana off a lot so she said gtfo to prom and sent him to like an alternate dimension and shit and prom was like "so i'm not getting laid? " and altana said "lolno, go fuck an enhanced sheep" and prom said "shit I knew I forgot something" so yaeh gg prom.

And that's where babies come from.

Dyanmis was created by Diabolos as a means for the Kuluu to escape Vana'diel. This is mentioned in some CoP CS somewhere.

Now, as for Dynamis being the Vana'diel Hell, that is interesting, considering one of the CS after you clear Dynamis. I think it's the San d'Oria one.

The ghostly Elvaan makes mention of "If the effigies on that realm are the beastmen that we fought against, then would that make the beastmen that drop the armor...

Enough, I don't want to think about it."
(Or something like that. Going on memory here.)

Perhaps those that are stuck in Dynamis (this alternate reality that is Raogrimm's nightmare) are forever stuck in the form of the beastmen they were in battle against? I've always been interested by the Dynamis storyline, because there's not much to it in the game, which leaves a lot of it open to speculation and reading between the lines.

Now, as for relic armor for the new jobs, well I can't see those being added into the current Dynamis. That makes no sense, storyline-wise, since Aht Urhgan refused to aid the Middle Lands during the Crystal War. But, that being said, if you look at the history of Aht Urhgan, they had their own ancient war about 200 years ago between the Empire of Aht Urhgan and the nation that the Corsairs hail from. Frankly, I expect relic armor for the three new jobs to more than likely drop in the Remnant zones that are in the .dats but not yet in the game.

    Just my hunch.

    Haha, thats pretty damn good.

I think Dynamis is not hell, but only a hellish place(or... nightmarish). On another note, Dynamis, at least the nightmares we encounter, seem to come from people who are in contact with the emptiness. Has this relation ever been explained? I don't think so.

    Shut up max, jesus.
