For being the home of the Kuluu, Pso'Xja seems pretty void of Tonberries, save a few pops and a NM. Wonder when/why they went from Pso'Xja to The Temple of Uggalepih. And where/who this Uggalepih really is.

And why the hell Tonberry Kinq doesn't drop anything??

Easiest thing they could do is to just make new rare/ex items drop in normal dynamis that you can trade for your BLU/PUP/COR relic.

Only thing ever mentioned about new jobs' relic that I've heard of was after I got 5/5 PUP AF from that Mithra in whitegate (the one that says there's too many puppetmasters, lol), she said there was another set of puppetmaster clothing, but she doesn't know how to get a hold of it anymore. I don't have no .dat reading crap so I forget what exactly she said since she hasn't repeated it since. Maybe someone can paste that statement or anything similar from the Corsair and Blue Mage AF crafters.

I wonder what "look hard" constitutes... a rare drop off dynamis-like NMs, or a drop off lolhydra, cerberus, and some unreleased NM? I could see Hydra rarely dropping BLU AF2, Cerberus rarely dropping PUP AF2, and _____ rarely dropping COR AF2.

Uggalepih is technically not Altana, I would agree it is a distorted view, however. According to legend (Tonberry legend, that is), Uggalepih is another goddess. Her beauty was so revered, that she was said to be more beautiful than Altana herself. This enranged Altana, who cursed Uggalepih, and transformed her into a site so ugly, no one would want to lay eyes on her. This is why the Tonberriers hate all followers of Altana. Altana is the mortal enemy of their goddess, and thus, all her followers are also their mortal enemies.


SPOILERS (but shouldn't be for anyone on this board)

As we know, the Tonberries are actually the Kuluu. The fallout from the surprise attack on the Northern Crag left them horribly mutated, and resulted in the Tonberries we see today. The Kuluu were devoted followers of Altana, but if you look at the legend, it does not surprisingly resemble their own predicament. Once beautiful, now ugly and filled with rage.

Next time you go killing tonberies, please keep in mind that they are all that is left of the race that saved the world.

Probably so that when they add the materials to Limbus, Magus armor can have a "high-quality" version for AF1+1.

That still leaves AF2.

Diablos, at the end of the mission fight with him, says something along the lines of "I came here, to the abandoned capital of the Kuluu", which implies that the Kuluu fled the city shortly before or immediately after the destruction of Fei'yin. The Cryptonberries (there are, I think, 39 Tonberry total, including Golden-Tongue) are either the few who could/would/did not escape, or else they are trapped within the Dynamis-version of Pso'Xja (as Tenzen mentions before you fight Diablos, at least part of Pso'Xja is just a dream/memory of ancient times)

It's also mentioned that Horototo was another of their cities, and that the Temple of Uggalepih was another of their settlements, as it was there that Grav'iton and Yve'noile actually came up with the plan to thwart the Zilartian plan by attacking Fei'yin.

Yes. But all three places (Pso'Xja, Horototo, Uggalepih) existed before the construction of the crystal lines and the events at Fei'Yin. Why they left Pso'Xja is anyone guess, but I'd figure it might have something to do with the events at Fei'Yin and the anhiliation at Vahzl turning the northlands from lush woodland into a blasted, desolate, icy wasteland.

It's also worth noting that Uggalepih/Elshimo appears to be the one place in the middle lands that is largely untouched by the Cermet Conduits (the only cermet construct in the region that i'm aware of is the Cermet Headstone of Fire underneath Gemini Falls, and I think that was built after in order to seal away the Fragment.

If I recall each has a specific Van date attached to it, and generally describes an important event happening at the time, as well as names of important people who were there/did something.

That it was hinted that the Tonberries exist because the Kuluu wanted to escape the Chains of Promathia (or whatever it is that is the 'problem' with people in the CoP storyline, it's early I forget if it's something else) And so Diabolos granted their wish...by turning them into the Tonberry. Being that they're no longer human-form they are now free of his chains, or something? I guess having the actual text I could explain this better, or be shown incorrect.

From what I remember, Diabolos gave those who were willing sanctuary in Dynamis. The ones that stayed behind were deformed from the explosion at Fei'Yin and became the Tonberry.
