Yeah imagine going to school there for 4 years. You know they didn't let us use the elevators right? I once had a schedule that had me at:
period1 - basement
period2 - 7th floor
9th floor, 1st floor, 8th floor, 9th, 10th, 3rd, 5th. I was in the shape of my life.

By my time there we were allowed to use the elevators, but good luck getting on when the other 4000 kids tried to as well (only 2 elevators were in use btw >.>).

Yeah that elevator revelation hit me like a sack of potatoes by day one. <_< we sort of had escalators (sure they dont always work but since they go up every other floor you just drop a floor and go up the other one <_<) so I got accustomed to being very lazy very fast.

That's one thing I miss about NYC. Everything is built UP instead of out... I went to school in normal suburban schools and it was just long.. long.... long.... longggggggggggggggggggggggggggg walks everywhere to get anywhere. And 2 floors and a basement usually, tops.
