Although I probably be with FFXI awhile since Mithra is jsut to awsome XD
That reminds me I made 2 fixedup 2 custom emotes for mithras... I added Luto's /joy emote and the soorta /bow emote the naked fishing guild mithra has... you know... that bow emote
im thinking like maybe take of the 3 day wait for Dynamis and Limbus so it can be done Dayli and maybe make HNM's Pop more often instead of every 24 HR and 3-8 days Pop its really along time 2 wait for like 100+ 2 claim 1 mob..... instead of making it pop more often so that more ppl can enjoy the fight out of it...... and for the love of God make some Decent Gear drop on Hydra and Cerb...... those 2 mobs are just LOLhnm reallyand do something about about the Economy...... really alot of players stop playing the game because the things you are able 2 solo Alone cost like 15k a stack so its no use 2 farm and every single NM solo able with a drop worth more then 1 Mill is like Camped by 10 GS's 24/7..... all these things destroys ppl's enjoyment of the game. the last 1 mostly id imagine....... SE should wake up and smell the roses concerning GS's they are so Easy 2 spot..... but still they do not listen....
I think the problem with the people who wait on saving graces of "the next update" is that they forget it seems that SE don't have a clue about their own game. We can sit here until we're all blue in the face hoping SE turn around and make something out there to replace Kings, but it just isn't going to happen that I can see. They seem very stubborn about the fact that the game was made with the idea in mind there are some items not everyone is meant to have and that's the way it's going to stay. They don't sit down and think "Geeze, guys. We have almost the entire population with multiple 75s now, and everyone is stuck in DA 3 hours a day. It must get boring." Having items like D rings and Ridills being extremely rare was a great idea when people were just hitting their first 75. But now people have merited out the ass and leveled subsequent jobs, they need to just open the field up so people can get these items. Add a *new* HNM that has a shitty droprate and rare gear only one in 100 people have. And make the battle a fucking challenge which can't be manaburned or killed in 5 minutes. At least sitting for 3 hours waiting for that to spawn won't look the same as DA which is firmly imprinted on the inside of my eyelids.
Anyway, that's by the by. In my opinion what SE really need to do is gain some out of the box thinking. I know a lot of people on here have said the best thing they ever did was to stop camping Kings. Now I'm sure some peoples experience in LSs is completely different to mine. However, I know that when I join an Endgame LS, with the jobs I have, I'm expected to turn up to everything when I'm around. And I don't like camping Kings, not one bit. The best thing I ever did was stop camping them. I can live with the fact my bard doesn't have a Dalmatica etc. I don't see why I should be expected to turn up to camp Kings so I can have a shot at a fun fight like Bahamut V2 or Tiamat or what have you. Someone else mentioned they fake "afk" when it comes to Sea fights. And I know I've faked AFK when I've been bitched at for not turning up to Fafnir for the 30th day in a row with no claim. It's partly to do with the fact FFXI is quite job dependant and if I was a loldrg, I imagine wouldn't have these problems at all. And these things do bother me about endgame. I shouldn't have to fake AFK in a game just because I want to level a job instead of watching another LS win claim on Fafnir for the 100th time. What I'd like to see most in FFXI is some more content where I can have fun but I don't need to rely on 18+ people to do it.
Now, don't get me wrong. I like the fact there are fights out there that take an alliance to fight and they are good fun for the most part. However a lot of endgame relies on big groups. Dynamis, Wyrm fights, Abjurations, Sea fights, higher level COP missions. That's all well and good, but there's not always going to be 18 people on that really want to go and do these things. I know a lot of people that spend their time on this game in the moghouse waiting for LS events. SE did really well with Limbus and Assault, you don't need an alliance, hell you don't need a full party even to do them. And it's nice when you're waiting for your Tiamat Team to assemble to be able to go out and do these with a couple of friends that might just be around. I really think SE would benefit from adding more content like this to endgame. By all means I think they should keep the 18+ alliance fights, and add new ones with better gear than is currently available to get the DA clusterfuck teams to try something new. But I would also like to be able to sometimes not have to wait on 17 other people to come online so I can go do something with them that I enjoy. Also if endgame wasn't so hugely dependant on a big group, it would mean if I do want to go off and level a job I wouldn't get badgered by my LS to come along. I always had the most fun in FFXI when I was hanging around with a group of friends and doing things like Limbus or Assault or Besieged. I would just like to see more of this stuff added with some decent rewards too (lol 1 tick refresh yigit set).
I know FFXI is a community and some people will be like "lol just go to WOW". But the fact is, the community is great and that's what I like about FFXI. However it's not always practical. And if SE could fill in those gaps like an hour before a sky run where I don't really have time to do anything and there aren't 18+ people on to go do something with even if there was time, that would probably fix the biggest problem with FFXI for me.
Me bitching about it here on BG won't change things. SE probably don't have the brain cells, even collectively, to address half the problems that we find with the game. Hoping that the next update will be the saving grace for a lot of people just begets disappointment. They did a decent job with ToAU but still the biggest problem lies is the smaller ones they refuse to adress. When the novelty of Besieged is over and when the majority of people have the one or two decent pieces from Assault and Limbus, they still find themselves back at Fafnir or back popping Ix'whatever for the 100th hour.
Holy mother of donkeys, summary please![]()
I think the major problem with this game is that SE doesn't stick to what works and fails at the evolution of a game. Example compare 2 other games I played before ffxi.
Everquest: As old as it is every expansion that came out released better gear, harder monsters and better content.
Lineage: Its older than ultima online, each episode update which is considered an expansion added better gear, better and harder content.
now FFXI does it all backwards the majority of the best content is 3 years old they got away from what works which is basically everything in RoZ
Simple solution. Delete all Zilart gear. Give people a chocobo hat who have to lose equipment.
I think they should introduce HNMs that have 2 sets of tp moves. One set is triggered by physical dmg and another set triggered by magic dmg. Have a seperate tp guage for each type of dmg.
The physical dmg gauge will fill up faster, resulting in more (weaker) tp moves.
The magical dmg gauge will fill up slower, resulting in fewer (stronger) tp moves.
Forget whether it was mentioned, but having Dynamis kick-out work like Limbus would be nice, so you don't lose AF and whatever remaining currency when the hourglass expires.

There's more where that came from. People always think people are going to quit if the next update sucks.Originally Posted by Re: July 2006 update

Because that's what we need. To lose the AC even more. They need to fucking adjust Undead Swarm. Either way, adding new mobs in an update is always a treat. Unless they are hax like Wamouras.
Well, at least by the time the October update happens, we'll have already started mating, riding, and retiring our chocobos, so if there's any bugs, they can hopefully squeeze it in then.
That "plethora of other new content" better not be an hour or two worth of seemingly pointless missions, HNMs with laughable loot, or NMs with NO LOOT AT ALL. SquareEnix's definition of "content" has been so hit and miss... (they've been leveling RNG at the offices? lol)
Expand assault rewards (new ranks is nice and all, but if there aren't more reward options there isn't much point... hopefully higher ranks give access to alliance assaults vs. cool boss monsters...), more varied ISNMs (like KS99?), some meaty NM/HNM goodness. Can't really say any of that will happen though.
Hope is a futile thing when all you've had to sustain yourself with for the past few years is raw pessimism forcefed to you from SquareEnix...
someone mentioned players going to psu. the japanese people in my shell said that psu was a joke, that its incredibly aweful.
