Dino forest is on that big island at the very north east, near the "Crazy Old Man's House," East of Narshe. I guess it kinda' looks like an upside-down Brontosaurus... sorta'?
Looks more like a rubber ducky rotated 90 degrees clockwise.Originally Posted by miokomioko
Not sure it really looks much like a brontosaur at all, or was intented to, either.
Definitely a rubber duck.
Alot of players, including myself, prefer the CoP content to what i've seen so far of TOAU. I hate besieged, assault is utterly boring, cerberus is ok, hydra sucks. Being forced to HP in whitegate sucks. The main thing I am hoping to see in a new expansion is the TOAU sky/sea equivilant.
See ya in aery tonight
I guess I'm not one of those "Alot of players."Originally Posted by Stellar

2]Assault is fun, and the rewards are actually decent. If it's "utterly boring," I'll go ahead and assume you're only a WHM or something.
3]Cerberus was a fun fight and Algol is still a good weapon.
4]Hydra was a good 'idea' for a mob, it's an interesting fight. It just still needs to drop something that people actually want.
5]Last I checked, you're not forced to put your homepoint anywhere. I don't understand this comment at all, lol. Yeah, I hate to have my homepoint within 20 feet of every amenity I could possibly need. Auction House, Sanction, Warp to Jeuno, Warp to home nation, Runic Portals, Assaults, Mission NPCs, Mog House, Mog Locker, every Guild. So... wtf?
6]Sky/sea equivelent for ToAU is the last thing I want. I spend enough time as it is, competing with CGF for NMs in sky, and enough time popping Jailer of Hope only to get everyone in the LS a really awesome staff. I'd rather have some kind of new bum-rush fights like Limbus, where it only takes an hour and stuff that people want actually drops.
Dinosaur forest is totally the best meripo zone in FFVI. Pots in the magic tower for learning all your spells though.
ToAU has introduced a lot of good, new content and novel concepts into the game. It gave us good merit camps with fast spawning mobs in a location that doesn't take 30 min to get to. It added a rewards system that isn't based on blind luck where if you put in the effort, you are guaranteed to get what you want in time. It introduced HNMs that have unique and interesting behaviors and weaknesses, and require more thought and a more balanced setup than bringing a ton of BLM to manaburn it down. And travel was made easy, you can HP in Whitegate and get anywhere within minutes. It is no longer a huge timesink to travel to the same places you've been a million times before.
All in all, I like it so far.
Some JP I heard talking about it said it was fun for a bit... but it already had mass dupe hack problem and was getting outa control or will be soon... or so they say.Originally Posted by Boyiee
tyranosaurous forest, above the vedlt in the WOR, upper right section of the map, be warned, the t-rexes there are hard, usually need to be mid50s or higher to survive.Originally Posted by takedown2
that mob is the brontosaur, its much harder, can do a sneeze move, however they drop a ton of exp and economizers (all spells take 1 MP)
You can beat them with the vanish/doom trick, however doing those tactics (vanish/doom/xzone) reduces your chance for a drop
if you vanish/xzone to kill doom gaze (fly around in airship in WoR) he wont drop the bahamut esper
edit: beaten... by several people
looks like some ff6 nerds in here, wooo
My party had a point system. Our fucking nin Shadow got an economizer.Originally Posted by Bagel

First time I played through I never even knew Vanish+Doom existed, God that makes the game Easy-mode.
EDIT: F*CK YOU MAX, I was typing this and mentioned that joke on AIM. GG on stealing it.

[A] Perhaps Assault on a larger scale, that would be muchos fun. 64-man Assault? mmmmOriginally Posted by Jooeetheplatypus
[B] Yeah, I meant to mention the timer. 1hr run every 3 days for loot is funner than 6hr run every other day for loot. It's refreshing to have the occasional fight that isn't heavily determined by strategy/party-setup, and is just fast and fun.
BTW, maybe it's just me worrying a bit, but did anyone else notice they didn't specifically mention chocobo racing coming in October... Could be nothing, but would I be surprised if it was delayed? Not particularly.
Unfortunately people want to get out of aery sky and sea and though your idea would be great in my opinion, the hyperfocused BG community wouldn't care about it.Originally Posted by miokomioko
