Fuck, I wasn't paying attention and somehow read that the 512 was the 1T-SRAM.. lol
Also, good point Seph. And the other controller is for sports. =p I plan on getting Warioware and Galaxy too, but they aren't launch titles =(
So the 512 memory is essentially like a hard drive then right? The game saves and virtual console games will be saved to there?
I can't wait for Galaxy.
More or less yeah. Also saves system info etc.Originally Posted by Po
So the only real reason to get a SD is to play with the Miis?
I think they're saved on the system itself.Originally Posted by Lbelle
I suppose it depends on how much space the Miis take up Lbelle. If each game only takes say 15 megs, and the virtual console games can't be much bigger, than the Miis should have plenty of space. Or do you mean for taking your Miis with you to friends houses with you for say... SSBB?
But meh, multiplayer in person is so last-gen, the Miis work with online play I am sure. I hope I understand this right.
I dont think game save data size was stated, but if its anything decent it will be 100k~5mb. Even at 5mb, 512 does go a long way, I dont think id really expect one game save to be over 5mb.. but even so, not like an SD card costs anymore than a GC mem card.
Edit: Po's a bit quicker ;-;
Yeah! I meant taking my Mii with my like a tamagotchi or something! You know how in Sonic you got those egg guys and you could play with them even if you weren't playing Sonic?
I'm really excited to play with the Miis actually. The Mii minigames all looked really fun, and I love character creation stuff.
Will there be a slot in the Wii for a GC memory card? I am sure this was answered on like page 5, but idc ^^.
Or will the GC saves also by on the 512?
ninja edit - this thread is getting F5 worthy![]()
Wii has GC mem card slot, pehapse its possible to transfer GC save data to Wii, that would be nice.Originally Posted by Po
It's probably the same way that the PS1 to PS2 memory card works. You need a PS1 memory card to save PS1 games if you're on a PS2.Originally Posted by SephirothYuyX
Another tidbit of launch info recently confirmed by Nintendo
http://www.gamespot.com/news/6158589.html
Basically, Nintendo is launching with -more- than a million units in North America.
Sweetness, now I am just waiting for them to confirm support of WPA encrypted networks.
dunno but that made me laugh pretty hard for whatever reason lolol. Anyway, with this conformation it's just another "weight off the shoulders" type deal. I know I'll be able to get one, and with this many coming out I won't have to stress about finding one either.skipyou
i hope that when i celebrate my bar mitzvah ( i am alredy thirteen) i'll get enough moneyfor the wii and some games!!!
It's almost like Nintendo has done everything right for this launch through various press conferences, TGS, and E3, and they're earning their reward. The people are taking them seriously, and Wii looks like a frontrunner. I think now that Nintendo has everything in place, and everything is looking up, the more interesting reads are about Sony.
The Sony losing moneyarticle, while maybe not very legit, was so good. Plus reading about how Sony can cure cancer, and price drops, and this and that and the other, I really enjoy those. Not because I want Sony to fail (I like my PS2), but just because after being bullies for so long, they don't seem to have their shit together like the other big dogs do.
Will be an interesting laaaaaaaaunch.
omg, I want to get my Wii now. >_<
I'm so fucking pumped for the Wii.
The same thing happend with the N64 and gamecube launches. Nitendo did everything right, promised some really great things. They gloated about ease of 3rd party support compared to other systems, and it ended up failing to Sony anyway. The promises turned out to be either bullshit or just not worth listening too...Originally Posted by Lbelle
Wii has got 3 big things going for it in my opinion.
Price.
New way to play games.
Ease of Game Development.
#1 nitendo always had in its favor, but failed to the other consoles anyway, proving that price does not predict a console's success.
#2 is a toss up. The n64 could have been called this too, but that really didn't live up to what nitendo was saying about it.
#3 Nitendo has done time and time again, and no matter how easy it is, people still buy the games because of graphics on a sony and developers still spend more to put games on a sony system.
Nitendo is making alot of promises. Its what nitendo is reknowned for. Sony is reknowned for defects and recalls. But nitendo is always always making promises. Their systems get Best in Show, their systems gloat price over performance and design over dev time. Im just really hoping we aren't seeing nitendo be, well, nitendo; all over again. I really dont want to see another N64 or gamecube... I'm willing to pay 250 for a beefed up gamecube with a new way to enjoy games... but all in all ps3's are gonna sell no matter how much people hate them and no matter how bad it looks compared to nitendo.
Given all the negative news about ps3 in comparison to wii, its gonna be alot more painful to nitendo if sony comes out on top anyway. People pay for graphics.
PS2 was the weakest last gen. Any Sony fanboy who says graphics are so important then they are hypocrits.
