I find it highly unlikely it'd be region free, but if it was to be, it'd be a godsend since they finally realize one big reason of their Gameboy/DS selling point.Originally Posted by SephirothYuyX

Yes, Reggie said it would be region free. It's up to the publishers to decide whether to lock their games or not.

But that second statement is kind of odd, Locking regions on a region free console?
Being region free, this means all the PAL cube games I own are not made obselete if I were to buy a NTSC Wii right?
My N64 was used a lot and still is, and I'm pretty sure a GC would have been used as much here. Like I said, my sister play a lot and console usually end up being used most of the time. It's by no mean a necessity for me to have 4 controllers right after I buy the console...hell, I don't even "need" a Wii, but being able to play 4 at times when there is 4-5+ people who wants to play is more fun, and I know it will often happen here. Why do you have to buy that many controllers anyway? Do you have friends over that often? I have 0 friends who play Nintendo, so if any of them wanna play with my Wii, I'll tell em to buy their own controller or console. It's like how my 2nd GCN controller is permanently collecting dust. The controls aren't even seasoned. I hate my country sometimes.
Anyway, like I said, it's not like I wasn't expecting that to happen. I was just hoping that a fully geared console wouldn't cost nearly twice as much as the normal package if you get everything the first week. The rest will just have to wait.
Their gamecube emulator or w/e might not be region free if they want to be an ass. >_> I'm still not sure however why any company want their game to not be region free.Originally Posted by Lordwafik

Not sure where he got the info from but he's keeping a close eye on the console so I don't doubt its credibility/accuracy.

I spilled a full jug of lemonade on my n64 controllers one time, the buttons were a bit sticky for a while but after a week of f-zero X, good as new.Originally Posted by SilverBreeze
I think so, yeah. Reggie basically said that all Nintendo games will be region free, based on the massive success the region free DS has shown overall.Originally Posted by Lordwafik
He kinda implied that 3rd pt developers -could- lock their games if they wanted to, but didn't see why they would bother.
So this means they have no way of keeping Cooking Mama away from me on the Wii? Excellent.

CNBC just had a little tidbit on the Wii. It had Reggie and some other people from various magazines speaking out about it, and showed some kids playing the games. At the end the anchor on the program said something like it will be in last place, but many think it will be in first or some bs like that. I was just excited to see them talking about in on TV!!
Boycotting CNBC until they apologize. CLEARLY THEY ARE SONY FANBOYS.
I miss the day (wish I had lived in the days) where journalists just reported the news instead of injecting their opinions into it.
"Nintendo hasn't been the dominant force in the industry for some time now, but a lot of speculation shows they might turn it around this cycle with the Wii."
JOIN ME IN NEVER WATCHING CNBC AGAIN (I never watched it anyway, so this will be easy)
It just depends what you're reading as to what journalists are going to do. I'm a journalist and my boss told me for the last article I wrote to put as much of myself into it as I could, and he ended up looooooving the article. (GEEK ISSUE 1 OUT IN OCTOBER BUY IT LOL)Originally Posted by Xavier
I think when people don't know jack shit about a product they shouldn't be putting their own feelings into the matter though. That 50+ anchor probably had never heard of the Wii until like 5 minutes before that clip aired. Seriously.
I'm going to kill them. Seriously, they better stop talking shit about Wii or I will rip them in half.Originally Posted by Lbelle

FUCK CNBC UP THEIR ASS!
I will have none of this anti-nintendo rhetoric and propaganda =(
Seriously, that one poll showing "which system is going to be the most badass" that keeps updating should bust the proverbial cockslap on dumbfucks. After that the only people spewing anti-wii sentiment would be individuals whose genitals CONSIST of a blu-ray drive.
In a perfect world =/

God I can't wait lol. Going to be so great.
