Ok, honestly. Is the earth's biosphere going to miss ONE fuckin skunk? This thread reminds me of the kids in my high school oceanography class. We'd watch documentaries about orcas and how they eat baby seals. Then they'd throw a hissy fit that orcas killing baby seals is wrong. No big deal, mommy and daddy seal will make a new one! And some orca will eat that one too! It's the ciiiiiiiiiiiiircle of liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiife!

Just be like Knives from Trigun. Kill the spiders to save the butterflies.

wow there is a big difference between an orca EATING a seal and some dude killing a skunk. i dont really think he is going to eat the skunk in which case it is NOT the circle of life.

yeah people who freak out because an orca eats a baby seal are stupid but so are people who kill animals for no reason at all.

The 2 ideas I'm comparing is that A) there will always be more seals. and B) there will always be more skunks.

Who the hell cares if he kills it? There's millions of others just like it out there in the world.

And by your rationale, should I stop swatting flies too? Cuz it's basically the same thing. The skunk's been fucking with his trash. Flies fuck with my food. But for some reason it's wrong to kill a skunk? Something's not right in this picture.

I agree with you but I'll play devil's advocate.

You can't compare fly swatting to killing a cute innocent skunk. It is more sentient than a stupid fly. Flys live for like a day, whereas a Skunk lives for much longer, and has babies/family that rely on it. By killing that skunk you potentially risk causing a chain reaction on other skunks.

Well, my sister decided to let the little runt free last night without consulting me first (Animal control wasn't coming till this morning). After escaping, it proceeded to scurry through my garage for a few hours. I didn't know why it stayed in the garage since I left the two-car-wide door open and the trash it had spilled before falling into the Barrel of Doom was cleaned up.

Then I found that I had accidentally blocked a hole that the skunk(s) had chewed through the back of my garage to the outside. I figured there was some kind of entrance they were getting to, but I never found it till now. Maybe they'll go away now, or more likely, chew another hole.

Uhh ya, I found it Thursday afternoon and was let loose that night. Wasn't my fault animal control couldn't come till the morning. Then again, it is possible the skunk had been in there since last Friday, which was when I put the barrels back in the garage.

I ain't soaking myself in fuckin tomato sauce just to see a skunk flip out. The skunk's probably an athiest anyway.

Why are people so defensive over a skunk? Maybe if it were a mouse or woodchuck or something I'd understand. But it's a fucking skunk, they make stuff smell like shit and tear open my trash bags at the end of my driveway. Seriously, they get run over everyday and stink up your tires. So I'm really sorry this skunk ruined my garbage and got itself stuck in my trash barrel as I went out of my way to call animal control to help it. (Proverbs 12:24)
