Having a central store for the currency is "safer" than letting someone who used the dynamis shell (sorry, most shells on gilgamesh have separate shells for dynamis) to get the currency run off without actually using it to upgrade when they decide that stage 3->4 is too much to deal with.

Moreso when you're handling currency for multiple people.
