agreed they should, but they don't. Instead the find themselves in my merit parties. Once someone suggested to go to the Mire and i said i will go only if people had echo drops. well guess what people quickly changed their mind on camp >_>

That and not many mages know how to spam silena properly. Soon as I see the effect start from the mob, boom... that silena should already be casting.

I can barely fit enough Echos in my free inv space to silena myself on imps for an hour.

Silena does not have an insane cast/recast. It is not MP-intensive. It's not even difficult to do. It's fucking boring, yes, but to say someone needs to go kill themselves because you're either too fucking stupid to stand out of AoE range, or you don't want to do your job, is ridiculous.

Your problem is making everyone come /nin. Get a healer and make them come /war, and maybe bring only one nin to silena. Imps die so fast.

Bingo. My inv is next to capacity with all the items and gear I carry. I usually have about 2-3 open slots which are reserved for seals. Sorry I want to get some of those also so I can do BCNM/KSNM. If I relied solely upon echo drops to cure my silena while meriting on Imps, I'd:

1) Go broke really freakin' fast.
2) Have to sacrifice other gear/items to make room for them.

Just do your job and silena. MP is basically free, echoes are not. Whenever you feel like chipping in for all the consumables I burn through in a merit party, then you can bitch at me for not using echo drops all the time.

(And for the record I do carry a stack but it's for emergencies, not for use while a mage with silena isn't paying attention.)

Ahh, I can see how that would spoil your enjoyment of them. From a Samurai perspective, they are heaven in a rotten body. About the only problem is that it's pointless trying to persuade the sheep to go there. Most don't even have Dvucca Isle SP - especially the "my only 75 job is a BRD" types.

It really annoys me when people with level 75 jobs don't have staging points considering that I was able to solo almost all of them on my second character when his highest job was 39 WHM. I only needed my main to escape through Halvung and to sleep all of the Imps in front of Ilrusi Atoll.

And it is sad as hell when people don't have Dvucca Isle now since you can get there through the Ruins so easily.

It's not so bad taking people to Dvucca anymore , just make sure they have a Silver Coin to go underneath the ruins and it's a small walk away.

1 great PT : MNK WAR NIN BRD WHM RDM (did we have a nin or a 2nd war? aurik was in this pt and prolly remembers it better)
1 ok PT : MNK SAM NIN BRD BRD RDM
1 bad PT : NIN NIN THF BRD SAM RDM


So long as the DD's are explosive, war, mnk, sam, all awesome choices to bring here.
When I took my thief the other DD's were doing the same and sometimes more, when usually I can deal much more than the other members in my party too. I wasnt parsing, just going by hand, so maybe I was just a bit paranoid. But I am 70% Confident that these are just like skeletons and take a peircing penalty.

If you've only done it 3 times then I was the NIN in your "great" party <_<

Bringing jobs that can do skillchains while maintaining High DoT is great there (Asuran > Jin for Fusion was great when we were there)

On the subject of Imps, Silena and Drops, ocasionally you get a competent Nin or /nin who actually uses them, and then either the Healer wastes Mp or the guy wastes his Echo Drops.

I always feel bad when I see "x uses Echo Drops" only to have my silena remove it a split second before it goes off; thereby wasting the poor dudes money or my Mp.

Happens all the time in Sea with Auroral Whirlwind or w/e the Aern Silence move is.

Considering who posted it it's obviously a joke.

Aerns are pretty decent xp, I xped there about a month ago, and we did around 10-11k an hour (NIN THF MNK WHM RDM BRD, other melees being Aurik and Wafik). ToAU zones can yield better xp but since they're so overcrowded having a totally competition free place to xp was very nice.

I miss the old Sky/Ule Range parties.
