Jimmy Kimmel says his final guest is Matt Damon and there's an assortment of clips played where they had to blow off Matt because they ran out of time, 9 times apparently. Then Jimmy gives a long ass intro listing a bunch of movies Matt has been in. After Matt finally comes out, Jimmy says that they've run out of time and when Jimmy asks Matt if he'll come back, Matt says, "go fuck yourself." The screen fades and comes back showing the credits and the band playing, but also shows Matt ripping into Jimmy saying things like, "I knew you were going to do it," and "go fuck yourself." After maybe 15 seconds of this he storms out.

I think Matt took it fairly well, hell he even waited till after the band started playing to blow up. Something tells me the only way Jimmy could've convinced Matt to come on the show the full 9 times is to promise him each time that he'd get some airtime.

Apparently it's more than 9 times, at least that's what I picked up. I thought it was a running joke on the show and this was just an extra special 'ending'. A lot of people I've read say it's staged. And like you said, things are timed quite well for everything that went on.

I think it was a setup.

My first reaction was it was staged. If it wasn't I think Matt was in the right, that's just stupid.

Also, I like Matt Damon as an actor, like someone posted above, it's not about doing 50 movies in a year, it's about doing the movies that mean something and are right for you. That's just my opinion though. ^^

Matt Damon is good in like every one of his movies... Rounders? Saving Pvt Ryan? Good Will Hunting? Seriously he's the man. I personally can not WAIT for The Departed. Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, Leo Dicaprio and Martin Sheen in 1 movie ftw.

I dont think he cares about PR, he just likes to have a good time
and I do believe he is a good actor, he can play a varied amount of roles really well, and agreement on cage being washed up, just not the same draw anymore

Yeah, just voice work, but still...2 pretty decent roles in two pretty good movies.

Matt Damon is way too good for that show anyway, and hes not washed up rofl. Every serious movie I've seem him in hes just rocked. Good Will Hunting, both Borne movies, Syrina (sp?), etc. He recently had a child and got married, so he wasn't working much I guess.

Honestly, if you made 17million dollars in 2005, do you really need to worry about money for a while? And yeah, The Departed is going to be AWESOME. Great director, and an amazing cast of characters. It also has Mark Walberg (sp?) in it too, and hes really not a bad actor given the right material (loved dirk diggler (sp?)).

This reminds me of the episode of Jackass where they talked to Brad Pitt and had him go stand in line at a movie theater in line with a bunch of Joe Schmoes, then the Jackass guys pulled in a big old van with hoods and ski masks and kidnapped him out of the line while he was screaming and flailing for his life. It fucking killed me it was so hilarious. It showed a camera inside the van and Brad Pitt almost had to be submitted to the hospital because he was laughing so hard. There was a Jackass guy outside disguised as a joe schmoe also, to tape the people's reactions. The people were flipping out. They were on the phone with 911 and saying with such conviction, "No! This is not a joke, please listen. Brad Pitt was just kidnapped right in front of me."
