Thats why you don't give your password out to other people. How many times does this have to happen to people before they realize this? Are you guys mentally retarded? lol
Yup. I got jacked a few weeks ago by two people I thought were my friends. One had my password. I'm lucky though, they just stole everything that could be sold, didn't drop my armor or delevel me or fuck with my merits. All I need is a really good KS99 run and one Tiamat who wants to drop H.Garters and i'm good again. Still got all my relic armor.
DON'T TRUST PEOPLE YOU CAN NOT REACH OUT AND KILL. The only person who should ever had your password is someone who lives with you, that way you can deliver swift and painful payback and if you don't want to end up going to jail and dealing with a judge, not even then.
This is a fucked up loophole because i've seen a bunch of crafters with this Policy where if they HQ cursed items they will give the NQ verison for free and keep the HQ to sell and now all that person has to do is call a GM saying they got jewed out of an item.
Its very common where there is limited supply of NQ's on the AH or the person has ingredients (V claw from ksnm30 etc). Some people can't afford a HQ tip or fee so the agreement is sell and split HQ (or crafter keeps) and the person requesting the synth gets an NQ.
I have lost my pictures [reformated PC] but its floating around the internet. I have a real life friend whom was a former GM, There is an area called "GC Home" its just a big wide open area it looks like a checker board, there are a whole bunch of NPCs there ranging from "Fame" to "Item" you talk to the NPC(s) and you can select any item, job, level, fame, etc. So yes, they recreate the item.Originally Posted by Tekki

Its kinda wierd they use an NPC to do it though, rather than commands.
I wonder if taj could get to that room...Originally Posted by SephirothYuyX

I think septimus just came.
Galka and adventuring fellow!
One that understands how hard/long it took to level the craft? IMO, unless you are going for HQ, this should always be the policyOriginally Posted by Bananas
Sounds exactly like the debug rooms in FF 7/8/9 which you could reach with a gameshark. Characters standing around with different purposes, such as watch FMVs, select levels, zones, items, etc. >.>Originally Posted by SephirothYuyX
afk, taping a gameshark to my ps2 and screwin hot chicks.
A clothcrafter on our server had this policy, ended up making a Cursed Dalmatica-1. Exactally the same situation, where the client didn't know about the policy and the crafter never explained it. He proceeded to get the materials and make a NQ for the client and took the -1 and after shouting to sell the -1 for I think 500mil (while getting harrassed in tells by the client's friend) for about an hour, he took the -1 and got it uncursed.Originally Posted by Bananas
GMs didn't do anything about it then, so it sounds like another situational thing that the GM just makes up their own decision without any firm rules.
My answer to this very simple.Originally Posted by Lordender
Don't do ANY synth for anyone without an agreement in advance.
The logged person in question is a friend of mine, and he didn't have one with the person who commisioned the togi. Thus, he got fooked. (And Daveys, didn't the commisioner have to return the NQ Togi after getting the -1 one?)
And yes, that means he got a cursed togi -1 for no charge save materials.
The GM did check the chat logs, and that's why the whole thing occured. Crafter took materials, did synth with no agreement beforehand other than "Yes, I'll do it" (cause the guy asking was poor after buying materials), refused to give item back despite it being clear that he'd synthed him a -1 from the materials given. So yes, the GM got called and saw the -1 being dropped in midconversation, proceeded to suspend the crafter for 3 days and handed the -1 togi over to the person who provided the materials.
Treat every possible high-end synth like it will be, even if it's a friggin skillup synth, and you'll go far as a crafter. Get an agreement in advance if your work can produce something worth a gazillion Gil. Or else you get burned. That's what the GM did. Checked the logs, saw an item made with no agreement other than "Yes, I'll do it" and that was it.
lol @ trusting anyone to do anything for you or giving anyone anything you might find of value

When too many people start doing it and 80% of GM calls become "OMG HE FUCKED ME OVER", they sort of had to do something about it. Chatlogged proof tends to help.Originally Posted by GRT
I'ld bet that for the GM to actually do something the person complaining has to know them. I sincerely hope that the GM that restored the deleted cursed togi-1 got fired.
Restoring items for people is VERY dangerous for SE to do.
Every time I read about a GM jailing/suspending a crafter I'm substantially less likely to craft for anyone else.
