It's not a hacked account if the info was freely given. Same lesson as 'if more than one person knows about it, it's not a secret.'

Couldn't of said it better myself, though hindsight is 20/20 and it's a shame what happened. Losing those gears, merits, and levels has to be heartbreaking ; ;

What I'm truly shocked at though and still trying to understand is killing the character 216 times to delevel it so much.

Most people when they get pissed off find some way to let it out~ be it hitting a wall, yelling at another person, hate-f*ing their girfriend or god knows what. And doesn't it feel good to get that out of your system when you do? I could never see myself going so far as to drop someones gears/merits etc, but I can see where someone else who's in a fit of rage might. Similarly I can see where someone might kill off xp a few times. But each time I would think that they'd get progressively less angry because it's getting out of their system... but -216- times... god damn... that takes a whole 'nother type of pyschosis.

ffs, just for that dumb-ass excuse alone, dude deserved reprecussions. I gotta say though, that was a hardcore GM. Heck, after dropping it in his presense and then lying to his face, the GM would of been wrong if he didn't lay the law down.

Sorry on the current topic though. GMs prolly can do it seeing the other amazing shit they can do, just that they can't for some reason. Rules are alot tighter these days. I remember when I first started playing, after a GM call people used to call them in just to take a pic and they always did it. Now a GM can't even appear ingame for serious matters. Infact, the other day a GM dragged someone to jail for a talk. The reason was policy frowns on them talking in /say in the world.

So, Piper, Victalyssa, who was it? I didn't see it mentioned, and I don't see why you would want his "reputation" to stay intact.

For doing something like this, the entire server should ostracize him, because this goes way beyond any action of your friend's part that could have warranted such retribution.

I say slander his name across every visable forum that you can, if you're SURE you know who it was. Make him pay for his crime in humiliation and the earned despite of everyone on your server.

Basically it was what everyone would guess it was; some emo kid that was infatuated with someone online because it was a girl and thus something he's probably never talked to in real life.

He was basically like a little puppie and he would log on her all the time to experience on her jobs for her, would pretend it was her when she couldn't make it to dynamis to get her points, etc etc. Apparently she told him to stop doing this, but she never just took the extra step and just changed her password and for that I honestly place a lot of the blame on her.

I can see a lot of the irony of what he did and if you knew about their situation it's quite a lot. He basically levelled her PUP about 80% of the way from 37 to 75 for her (2 boxed his COR and her PUP), most likely did her AF quests, meritted on her BLM a lot when we used to manaburn in sea, and things like that. Thus when he went emo and turned around and deleted all her merits and delevelled her PUP that much and tossed some items it was like he was taking away what he gave her in the first place.

The thing that is totally bullshit about it is he went above and beyond what he had any right to touch. Dalmatica and Gaiters were earned by the work of our LS, not him personally and the same goes for most if not all of her BLM gear and her other stuff.

As I said though, I had personally talked to her about it before and how she shouldn't let him even have access to her character and was obviously ignored and I guess in this situation I was correct. I've never been a big fan of 2 boxing in most situations, even as the leader of the largest 2 box LS on our server most likely. Only 1-2 people ever had my account and both of them are not going to cause any problems, and I only have ever really had anyone's account info in order to get them something they've earned (a couple Dalmaticas and stuff like that) but are unable to make it to due to time restrictions (ie 6 AM Nidhoggs).

Uh oh, beat you to it! You might be able to scrounge up a couple million in assorted crap I have left, but I'm done and my character is cleaned out. Maybe to help slowly remove this addiction from my life I will spend 3 hours a day sitting in an empty room doing absolutely nothing (might even put up some cardboard pictures of darters or thunder elementals to help it seem more authentic), then 2.5 hours the next week, then 2 hours, up until I'm ready to get on with my life like a normal person.

I think it's finally time that I step out and speak for myself on this. I have been quiet about on the forums and letting my fellow LS mates do the talking for me but it's time I finally speak on my own behalf.

Yes, I am the one who had my account ransacked. Was I surprised that it happaned? To an extent, yes I was. But, I also knew it wasn't beyond him to do such a thing. I blame myself for this happening. Morathi is right. He spoke to me about it and I told him I would talk to this person. I don't know what was my issue with just changing the password. Most of it was, I was already in too deep with him. I knew if I did anything like that he would explode and cause a lot of drama within the LS. I didn't want that. I thought I could just keep it under control and keep him quiet. Not even a couple of days after my conversation with Morathi, I had enough of this guy and of how he was treating me. We had an arguement and he stopped talking to me. I knew I should of changed my password that very second. I knew he would be capable of this. It was my own fault that I was too damn ignorant and lazy to wait till the next day to do so. Well, the next day was when he came in and wiped my character clean.

To clear other things up....we were NEVER romantically linked. Hell no. For a year and a half he was apparently "in love" with me. I have spoken to him so many times about this and clearly told him I did not have those feelings for him. When he seemed to finally get it, our friendship at one point was very nice. I would help him out on things as he helped me. We lvl'd two jobs together. We did AF quests together. During all of this, I never made it seem to him like he had a chance with me. I never flirted with him, never talked dirty, sexually, whatever to him. It was then that I decided to give him my account information. This was earlier this year.

What I failed to admit to myself was, as more time passed, he started to take control of me and my character. I would just ignore it and let him cry and whine about it. I told him to stop using my character for dynamis. I actually told him several times to stop lvling my PUP. He wanted to hit 75 fast so he just continued to do it saying he just wanted to get 75 on his COR. I didn't think it was a big deal. He probably lvl'd my PUP from 57-74 not 37-75.

I don't like to think that I used him. It wasn't like that. He always knew what my feelings were. I always made a point to tell him, he doesn't need to be helping me. I can do it on my own. Either way, the damage is done. He deleted his character after screwing mines up. He left a couple of msgs to few people on the server. He claimed I would be nothing without him. He thought I was quitting soon and our LS was disbanding since Morathi was quitting. His whole plan was to quit and make sure I would quit along with him. Well he was wrong. I fully intend to restore my character back to the way she was. Even though he helped me out, I still put a lot of time into that character. He tossed a lot of things that he did not have any tie ins to. Like my Z mitts +1. I funded the gil for that, I took the time to get them synthed. My gaiters, my Dalmi, my Assault gear, my BLM AF+1, my BLM AF2, my RDM AF2, that was all me. Most of my merits were done by me, not him. Yes, he did help me get some merits, but to delete ALL of them was not even right.

Luc will be restored. All will be fine. Life will, as always, go on. I'm not posting here for pity, or sympathy, or help. I just wanted to be able to tell my side of the story. I know I did wrong. This didn't have to happen. Now I am paying for it. Sorry for the huge post. I just had to get this off my chest.
