On Saturday morning i tried to log in to go to dynamis- when i turned on my ps2 it said my password and username didn't match or whatever. I freaked the fuck out. If any obsessed BG forum reader remembers -- about 6 months ago Judahbuddah's account was hacked (I'm assuming it was them too - i forgot to ask...) -- Since then I've had Judahbuddah on my ps2 only. I do not give people my passwords, I do not put him on the PC. On the account was Judahbuddah, and Farmforjudahls (our mule.. its a joke name..)..

At that point I pretty much declared defeat - everything the linkshell had worked for was on that mule - 2 jailer of love sets, a fuck load of currency.. wyrm horns, various shit.. right? ok.. so I sat there thinking how the FUCK did someone get on my account --- and the only way was calling Square-Enix and having them change my password.

So I sat around feeling sorry for myself all weekend -- seeing you guys were having a field day.. and many of my close in game friends now thought I was some thieving scum bag (eat my sack btw)...

Monday comes and I call S-E.. they tell me on Friday night someone called claiming to be me, gave my address - first 4 and last 4 of my credit card - and my full name. I exploded on the phone. Insert lots of yelling here. The guy basically told me "you had to give the info to someone so we refuse to believe you got hacked" -- and i was like "are you fuckin shitting me?" right?

so.. how does someone get my billing information? Well theres a tab on POL to see ur billing info I guess.. and someone who had at one point been on one of my accounts, or I paid for their account, had to check it.

Square tells me they are sending a report to Japan to start a criminal investigation. Seeing my credit card was used - this would be fraud - and yaddayaddayadda. I'm like "whatever" cause at that point what can you do?

I get off the phone - get back to doing nothing laying around watching TV... and I get a phonecall from one of my linkshell members that they found a mule bazaaring all the same shit our mule had.... WWWHHAAAAT?

I get in game and we find the character - all of the shit there.. I hop on vent and ask if anyone knows who the character belongs to -- and tada -- someone does.

About 3 phonecalls later I have PB's phone number - I called the house and spoke with his father, explained the situation - and PB is in game giving me all my stuff back. THANK YOU. seriously. thank you.

After we get all the shit back I get back on the phone with PB's Dad and Square-Enix to work out the details.

For all the haters who celebrated my lack of posts defending my quote unquote actions -- you can blow me. If I choose to leave this game it will be by my own will, and I will leave with a clean conscience.

For everyone else who stood behind me and defended my name through all of this - seriously thank you - the PM's and phone calls of support were a little unreal.

It's been documented in the past, that there's 3 ways to get a characters account info (short of someone breaking into your house IRL and logging on):

1.) Give it to someone.
2.) Get it stolen due to a hacked 3rd party program.
3.) They get lucky and guess.

I reffer you again to my (rofl) Cassandra Nova theory.

the only thing you need to hack an account is the pol ID, don't even need password or anything else.

there are this little magical things called "Data Entry robots" that you input one field of information and they start inserting possible combinations into the empty fields until they get the correct answer( in this case password).

most places use some sort of security anti-robots but POL is close to none, they seriously don't care if an account or two gets "hacked" since it is not (sufficient)material for a law suit.

your statement should say, i know only know of 3 ways to get someone account's info.

When he quit the game a long time ago he gave the account to a member in my linkshell (im giddy for 75 mules)... and that member didn't have a credit card to put it on.. so.. i stepped up. --- then when PB came back, he scribbled down my billing info before changing it back.
