That was the beginning missions and actually Ajido got his ass kicked and was captured by the Yagudo if you remember correctly. He did however CS stun lesser Yagudo on his way to the Yagudo Avatar only to be captured. Shantoto is feared by everyone in Windurst lol. The way they talk about her in the Windy missions makes her sound like she is insanely powerful.
Actually, during the missions, they make her just sound insane >.> (with her curses and different spells that she creates).

Edit: Damn beaten to it, wtf I type very slow.

Then why do they tremble with fear when she walks into a room? Pretty sure its because she is powerful and not just insane.

Moglocker was Expanded during an update.

ISNMs also. Using the IS instead of seals or items = big fucking win in my book.

We were given more variation of Assaults to choose from.

I would say Besieged NMs but I don't feel like being laughed at because....yeah... *coughs* >_>
Also, they added the Chocobo rental NPC, armor storage, and ballista NPCs, the ability to use the warp taru to go to your home nation, and more, in updates that were not part of the original release.

Its amazing that years of playing FFXI has made this perspective the "norm." This is all stuff that should have been included when ToAU went live.

Expansions are normally complete upon release. If they are not complete, nearly 95% of the content is complete and ready to go and the rest is added in a patch within a week or two. But, SE has lulled our playerbase into getting use to their way of things.

how is that stuff anything they couldn't have had with the initial town? obviously rental chocobos was planned to be in Al Zahbi from the beginning. towns are suppose to have storage NPCs, when people first got to Whitegate they went and looked for it.

just because they held it out and put it in a later patch makes that a brilliant addition? it was a problem that they didn't have them in the first place, it's not a feature to add it. it also takes no development team effort to add an extra NPC that does the exact same thing as other NPCs in other areas.

But you can't deny that those conveniences, along with Cerberus, Hydra, new missions, assaults, chocobo raising, ISNMs, etc. were all parts of updates, not the original expansion, and therefore ToAU has offered great updates with significant content so far.

I actually like that they don't give stuff like theo choco in the 1st place. It makes you really get to know the areas better. If you had the chance to warp to the ENM on Uleguerand Range instead of walk you would have no appreciation for the insanity that is the zone. I appreciate the Thickets and the Woodlands because I had to traverse them.

i AM denying that, conveniences are not content and the stuff that is content were not significant.

most of the conveniences should have been in the initial ToAU install. why did the devs need 3-6 months to decide if the players are Chocobo worthy in ToAU zones? why did the devs even need more than 15 minutes to decide if a Storage NPC in the new city would be a good idea? "we messed up and forgot to put it there to begin with" does not make significant content.

ENMs is significant compared to ISNMs because you don't have to choose between Bearclaw Pinnacle, Monarch Linn, Boneyard Gully, Mine Shaft you can do them all. ISNMs is a lot less significant because you have a very limited number of IS so you have to choose the most beneficial and you can only do 1 uncapped and 1 capped at a time.

So are you saying ENMs are more significant than BCNMs? Because BCNMs are even more limited than ISNMs.

yes and no. BCNMs are significant in that it has a much larger range of unique items. if you want torques you have to do this BC, if you want RSE2 you have to do this other BC, if you want Destroyers you have to do this other BC, Penitent's Rope another BC.

BCNMs is significant for it's variety and uniqueness of loot. ISNM doesn't really have that either.

I'm guessing that's because we don't have the full range of ISNMs currently to be honest. We do have some good shit from ISNMs already (Leech Scimitar, PUP attachments, Dragon Talon).

perhaps, but i do think the whole ENM system is more consumable content than even BCNMs. because people will run static ENM groups from week to week, you don't run static BCNM groups like that because you run out of seals. some people also run static ENM groups just for the XP you get.

even if you get hosed on drops (which you are prone to get from ENMs, BCNMs and ISNMs). ENMs have by far the best consolation. i've been hoping they would extend the ENM system to non-CoP areas but they seem to be done with that entire concept.

i'm not saying ISNMs have no potential but right now i'd rather hoard my IS for higher rank mission items than risk them for the current ISNM loot pool. most current ISNM loot is job specific, most BCNM loot is not or has near equivalents for every job.

No. The updates are bandaids on the gapeing wound that is the ToA content. Months after release there is still no significant high level ToA content. Making new, more tedious and less interesting assaults but restricting them to level 75 isn't adding high-level content.

Go play ANY OTHER MMORPG and you'll see that SE should be ashamed of their expansions. Takeing a year after selling you the product to actually put the content in is NOT how other companies do it. It's surprising a Japanese developer is doing such a shoddy job, and doing it late. You'd have thought they'd all be required to jump in front of subway trains or something.

When I think of a new expansion I think of new challenges and new rewards. And what has ToA given us? More time spent in Dragon's Aery, and a free hat. Go hat! Now we can all be towel heads!
