Like I said, wearing the errant is something to do when you will land the nuke so your damage is going to be stable anyway, and if you're resisted you'll only do less damage, don't see how that screws your hate.

    fafhogg are too easy
    last time I saw nidhogg claimed by another ls they wiped twice.
    Those people don't deserve to play the game if they wipe to Nidhogg.

    Reminds me of a Tiamat once that a couple LSs were taking turns wiping to. My LS was busy camping fafhogg, and the LSs at Tiamat were going at it long enough that we could finish camping and killing fafhogg and still make it out to Attowha Chasm in time to kill Tiamat.

    3enmity wouldn't have reduced the quantity of alcohol I drank that night when I claimed darter at 5am. I dunno why you bring that here. Beside, you know there was more screw up than mine that day.

    If you want -enmity, you could simply use AF or something else before and after your nuke. It's pointless to waste mp on nuke that have higher chance to be resisted. Not only it will force you to rest more often, but you will have to nuke again to make up for it.

    According to your logic, it would be better for a BLM to uses Wizard sabot at fafnir over Yigit boots. Is it what you are doing for additional -enmity?

    First LS wiped at 35min, and got flailed not too long after we got the claim. We tried to kill, but it reached 1h+ and we couldn't finish it. Jp claimed it after, but cfh on it at 30%. We claimed it back after, but my drunken self got a darter ~20%, Nid was already imune sleep from the previous fight against Jp and we wiped.

    It's not like we never fought it before or kill it slow, shit happen, and it decided to happen that day.

    *cue his usual rant about SE really really needing to increase inventory space*
    10 MND will not continue30 points of damage to your stoneskin, maybe initially, but not always. like pretty much everything else in this game there's a cap.

    If the formula is right on ffxiclopedia, 10mnd does give 30 points.

    X = ([Enhancing Magic Skill] / 3) + MND
    F is the the amount of damage reduced.
    F = X (if X < 80)
    F = X * 2 - 60 (if 80 <= X <= 130)
    F = X * 3 - 190 (if X > 130)
    Caps at 350 damage.

    I don't know where better to post this, but its too good to keep to myself.

    pld/nin generates more hate than pld/war because it subs a job that has more starting enmity. /war has one of the lowest enmity amounts in the game. so every little thing i do has a slight bonus to hate.
    Found in this thread. The rest of the thread is pretty funny too...

    That's true. When I'm subbing nin on warrior, I get so much enmity every damn mobs turn toward me.

    Limbus isn't all gold and puppies. First, most AF+1 sucks. Just like most AF sucks. For each set there's probably one or two nice pieces, but that's it. And you give up your npc storage option for the pieces you upgrade at the very least, and all the rest as well unless you do pain-in-the-ass AF requests. Second, there's practically nothing worth buying with Ancient coins after Brutal Earring. Third, Homan and Nashira are not what they could have been.

    That said, I do like the system of collecting currency and then selecting your own reward with it. Much better than the 'be lucky as fuck' system Dynamis has.
    Hi, I'm Boxers Mantle, also, for mages, they can get the other two earrings (Loquacious and the Brd one-I'm told is very nice for Brds)

    As for your Homan and Nashira comment, not sure about what job you have, but I know every thf out there wants Homan legs and Homan body, oh and seems Drks want in on that too (none of my jobs can use Homan, but I hear from all my thf friends that Homan for tp is great). So yeah, Limbus is that good.
    Oh yeah, I admit to totally spacing on the Boxer's mantle. That is an amazing piece. And the musical earring for brds, that overwhelmingly huge percentage of the FFXI population . From what I hear though, loq just isn't worth it. As a BLM, I can't see any reason I'd really want it over moldy/novio/magnetic/static or whathaveyou, though I'm not one of those extreme BLMs that solos all the time and doesn't play any other jobs.

    Most suck? Oh, I see you agree with me then. Yes, some are good, but most suck.

    2) if you were smart you can re-quest the one piece you want BEFORE you upgrade it while your entire original AF is still stored on the NPC.
    I won't thank you for calling me a retard, but I will for this info. I honestly had no idea this was possible. My point still stands though; you're still doing pain-in-the-ass requesting, even if it is only one or two pieces.

    3) 30 MP Earring even without the fast cast is really nice for the slot. 5 Skill Earring for BRD how many other magic skills has that. best solo backpiece for pretty much any job in the game.
    Loq is debatable. The fast cast is negligible, and there's mp available on other pieces. Plus, the ear is kind of a crowded slot for most jobs. Loq is hardly a must-have mage piece in the way brutal is must-have for melees, or even as nice to have as a Boxer's Mantle (which I spaced, yeah).

    4) best SMN hands piece in certain situations, best BLM feet piece in certain situations, best RDM legs piece in certain situations, best TP pieces for multiple slots and multiple jobs, Haste & Enmity on the same slot at the same time for PLD/NIN. Homam and Nashira are fine as it is, "not what they could have been" items come from lolHydra.
    Best .... in certain situations. 'Nuff said really. All Nashira , and most Homam, are just more sidegrades. Which is really kind of fucked up considering how tough it is to get, Nashira especially. These 2 sets are not what they could have been.

    I think most jobs have 1-3 AF pieces they'd like to upgrade. As a thief if I actually cared about Trick Attack I'd get the hands, but I don't so NVM. I got the feet for space reasons. As a pld the body is the best if you don't do kings or have luck in Dynamis-X, the feet are amazingly good, the legs would be great for pld/rdm soloing and I'm sure I could find a reason to use the head.

    Loq. earring is the best earring for SMN and WHM, is it not? Or would you say Heavens/Magnetic? I had a friends 75blm account for a while and static earring was amazing for MB's, so if someone is a career blm and chose that one Loq. would definately be up there for any other mage job he played. As a pld, I'll eventually tank as pld/nin in Loq/Ethereal until I get myself a Hades+1, then I'll play around with what is best for situations.

    As for Homam, I have 4/5 (all but head, oddly enough considering the drop rate of Homam Zuchetto) and for Thief I use all 4 at all times when tping. As a pld I use all 4 when DDing cause I sold my hauby and while tanking as pld/nin I typically use 3 of them. Thief has the 'worst' accuracy of the Homam jobs (save BLU but...they're new <.<) and I can eat meat exclusively with Homam, DRG/PLD/DRK all have A+ weapons and the acc/haste is AWESOME for DDing, another +100hp on a melee job is pretty hot too to keep yourself alive long enough to get a heal. I'm quite jealous of Byakkos Haidate, but Homam > Sky god set overall, easily. My only complaint about Homam is that it is rather low defense considering sky god gear has shockingly high defense, each piece should be at least +5 defense IMO, but if that's the worst part about an armor set for DDing, you're pretty set.

    I'll agree Nashira doesn't seem to be that amazing, but honestly mages don't have nearly as many problems as melees do in a lot of situations, they didn't 'need' too much of a boost and I think Yigit fits well with Nashira, really.

    of course most suck, most are suppose to suck. wouldn't the game be really messed up if every job was walking around in nothing but AF+1? what's the point of Abjurations, Homam, Nashira, Sky Gear, AF2, JSE if all of the AF+1 pieces are amazing?

    does it have to be a must have piece to be good? how else can you get more MP in that slot for say SMN, BRD, WHM.

    it's very rare to get that much MP in one slot without losing a lot of HP also.

    you're not playing the same game as me than. this has been a fundamental problem with everything wrong with FFXI itemization and you're here ranting about two of the better sets out there?

    if you want to knock "what they could have been" items, how about Bahamut's Zaghnal and Bahamut's Hose? how about Mercurial Pole, Reviler's Helm? how about Hydra Mail?

    It's good pole and helm suck, could you imagine the fucking grief if wyrms dropped something as good as say ridill? Clust-er-fuck.

    Wyrms should have dropped a permanent key item you need to get into the realm of the dragon king, an instanced zoned filled with dozens and dozens of bahamut-summon class wyrms and drakes and half a dozen god-wyrm encounters each of which drop 3-5 peices of loot from a table of 8-10, each of which is an actual upgrade instead of being worse than something that could have bought from the AH 2+ years ago.

    how is it good? it doesn't have to be as good as Ridill but decent enough for some MNKs to consider using it sometime as opposed to H2H.

    i'd rather see people swarm to Jorm and Vrtra like they do to Tiamat than the way it is now when the most likely thing to bring those 2 mobs down is server maintenance.

    Yes, they should be BETTER, like have 8 int/mnd/chr on them as well, or 32 or better MP or 10 elemental or something so they can at least replace mahatma or savage or duelist so I don't carry around 4 leg peices, but thats beside the fact. For a lot of the most important things RDM do, nashira is the best peice. Considering Ultima is one of the toughest fights in the game (sadly) and the requirements to getting to it are among the highest, more gil than a dynamis run, etc. etc. Nashira really SHOULD be better, but it's still the best... sometimes.
    However INT and MND play a role in partial resists, so gutting those stats (+8) for skill (+5 and +3 accuracy) is not a good idea.

    And the lack of MP on the Nashira set is utterly rediculous.

    That goes against both what I've seen and the patch notes. I probably have about +11 INT but > 330 enfeebling when sleeping dynamis mobs and I see about as many partial resists as full resists, which is approaching none. Likewise paralyze duration when I have all MND gear but minimall +enfeebling is almost never full duration.

    APR 2003
    In the effect of magic in the following, the effect increases and decreases by the ability difference and the skill of Jutssha and the target.
    - Slow  - Paralyze  - Burn  - Frost  - Choke
    - Rasp  - Shock  - Drown  - Drain(The amount of consumption MP was lowered. )
    - Aspir  - Blind

    And... I think this is a mention of duration being skill based, but not the one I remember. I remeber one explicity talking about how gravity's duration wasn't determined by enfeebling skill so it was fixed to work like everything else. Anyone care to translate or find the other enfeebling reference? http://ffxi.somepage.com/links/

    魔法効果判定にハーフレジストの概念が導入されました。 弱点以外の属性で従前はミスとなっていた魔法でも、効果時間等が半減した状態で入る場合が増え ました。

    Google gives this gibberish: Concept of the half resist was introduced into magical effective decision. With attribute other than the weak point heretofore, when it enters when effective time and the like has reduced by half it increased even with the magic which had become mistake.

    Regarding Shantotto and shit, that Heroine fight is being live streamed from the Tokyo game show or whatever it is on Vana'diel Live on playonline.com right now. Dunno where else to post this.
