Does my Aristo Coat look grey to you also? Choco and Coat look the same color to me. Well it may be more of a purple/bluish color than real blue. It was also misty and early morning when I took the screenshot so all the colors are kinda bled out in that pic...

It may be possible that second generation chocobos, depending on their parents, may have an increased chance of being black or blue.

Interesting thought. Or it could be that if you breed two blue/purplish/white-tip chocobos like the one I got, you may end up with a real blue one? Like the one that SE posted a picture of that's a bright blue with no discoloring around the tips?

Yellow from "somewhat warm" ISNM egg. But why breed yellows when by all logic it will just add more yellow to the gene pool? It's established by now that most people pretty much prefer black or blue.

The only reason I can imagine for not immediately turning yellow chocobos right back in to the VCS is to play around with stat-raising techniques. Or the hope that they may have some unique as-yet-undiscovered ability that would make them as desirable as the cooler colored varieties. If that's the case I'll let other people find out; I'm not interested in running around on a bird that looks the same as a boring old rental.

Wait, in the picture of adult chocos, mine looks more purple. There's a blue one in that picture that is unmistakeably blue. So, shouldn't there be an option for purple?

I'm a tad color blind, so I can't really tell, but it looks almost identical to Pergatory's choco. All of my friends that have been raising chocos got yellow ones also, alot of them are gonna toss them and start over lol.

yea, that's what they are doing now but pretty much all of them are slower and doesn't last as long before they ditch you.

Yeah. You have to build it's strength pretty high to get it as fast as a normal one, but maxed it looks like it'll be faster then a regular one.

How do you know theres not some hidden flag on that item or something. Most everyone I know that got it from ISNM got colored while almost everyone that just bought one got yellow.

When I made that post it was 72% Yellow vs. 28% colored.

Right now, it's 74% Yellow vs. 26% colored.

It's still a rather small sample, considering the inherent, absurd variation of this game. Colored chocobos, as in blue OR black is still at about 1/4 chance. That's still not rare at all in my eyes. Not to mention, I don't think it's quite an issue of "I only want a BLACK one, fuck BLUE, that will not satisfy me" Getting an unyellow chocobo is pretty much all people want right now.
