What color was your chocobo?

So we're still looking at almost a 1/3 chance on a fully colored chocobo.

That is not rare whatsoever.

It is a lot closer to 1/4 than 1/3.

And considering that there's closer to a 12.5% chance to obtain a blue chocobo, that makes blue chocobos rare. There's also about a 12.5% chance to obtain a black chocobo, which makes black chocobos rare, as well.

You want a particular color chocobo? Good luck when there's a 87.5% chance to obtain something other than what you want.

But how many of those where just bought in rulude?

Wasn't it determined that the source (warmth) of your egg had no bearing on its chances to be a certain color?

I don't think that we have determined that yet. So far we have seen that any egg can become a non-yellow chocobo, but not that there is the same percentage chance of that happening.

I know several people who have obtained a yellow chocobo from an ISNM egg, and people who have obtained a colored chocobo from Jeuno. Granted, "several" isn't enough for any hard statistical facts, but its not uncommon to get yellow from ISNM, or colored from storebought.

I don't think it's quite an issue of "I only want a BLACK one, fuck BLUE, that will not satisfy me" Getting an unyellow chocobo is pretty much all people want right now.

Would it have killed SE to make the 75% probability "NQ" color white, or anything other than public transportation yellow? We all know rental birds come with gum wrappers under the saddle and the faint scent of spilled beer on their tailfeathers. Who wants their hand-raised personal mount to be confused with a taxi?

Not entirely true. People with blue-tip or black-tip birds during teens have been getting yellows on adulthood as well. Whether someone with a white-tip bird has received a blue/black on adulthood, I haven't heard of it happening yet.

Yes, look at the picture. Beak shape indicates male or female.

So females have the squashed, bigger beaks? Mine is male, and it has the smaller, downward-curved beak.

It's easiest to tell between the two green ones. One's is clearly longer than the other's, and that one is male.

from what i've seen there "pure blue and pure black" are not out yet. all "blue/black" are the color with white tips. so maybe if you breed enough black/whites together you MIGHT get a full black .but then again they could be theoretical chocobos. (besides the black/white looks cooler imho)
