How much Store TP does it take to bump a ranged attack using Trump Gun (480) and standard bullets (240) from 14% TP to 18% TP return ?Originally Posted by Lithiani

I don't believe ranged TP gain is as easily calculated. And your TP gain won't be 14 or 18 exactly, it'll be 14.xx and 18.xx (the game works in either 2 s.f. or divisions of 256).
If you can tell me the TP stages (i.e the TP after each and every swing) from a weapon with a single delay, under a certain rolls, and I'll tell you how much Store TP it is exactly (make sure no other StoreTP is present - i.e. no Rajas).
It's roughly 25 StoreTP though (I would suspect from the other roll effects like chaos that it will be 25 for a roll of 11 with a SAM in the PT).
True, but the point I am trying to make by having a <job> (ex: Samurai) in a party and therefore getting other jobs a trait/bonus they normally wouldn't have.Originally Posted by Lithiani
So maybe in your example you're not helping out the Samurai all that much, but you're potentially giving a pretty good boost to other jobs in the party such as NIN or THF or WAR. Conversely, the Samurai will be getting the benefit of a Rogue's Roll or Warrior's Roll if one of those is present in the party.
Edit: And really that is the beauty of a Corsair...you're giving traits to other jobs they normally don't have.
The Store TP that you get from a SAM roll with a SAM in the party is enormous compared to what gear can give. Average of +3-4 tp per shot if you roll most high numbers or a 2 (the lucky number) - not sure exactly how much Store TP that comes out to but it's a lot.To go from a 6/100 build to a 5/100 build would require an additional 29 StoreTP, which I don't think is possible from Samurai Roll.
It depends on Base TP gain. Store TP is percentile.Originally Posted by Kylen
As an illustration: If you have a Base TP gain of exactly 10 per hit, 20 Store TP would give you 12 TP per hit instead.
As another illustration, the base TP gain with a 450 delay weapon (most Great Katanas) is 11.5. A SAM75 with a decent set of merits and gear will be getting 16.7 - that's 45 Store TP.
As I said, the issue with giving a long-delay weapon wielder the SAM roll, is that unless extre StoreTP is going to push us over the threshold into 1 less strike to 100%, it might as well not be there. StoreTP is a lot more likely to achieve that threshold effect when used on a low delay weapon user.
I'd rather have double attack up, because that will increase my speed to 100% TP, and the Samurai roll won't. Sad, but true.
Manaburn got a Corsair now 8)
We'll let you know how COR works in our style of dynamis after a few runs.
just a few hints, answering to the OP:
BLMx3 SMN RDM COR
this is one of the best setups involving corsair. double refresh (even better than 6mp/tick), double MAB, Magical Atk bonus if needed, Quick Draw as the finishing touch.
DDx2 WAR RDM BRD COR
this has already been discussed a lot
NIN BRD COR
for tanking NMs. ninja would benefit both the Evasion bonus and the spell interruption% down (granted by Choral roll)
WAR & COR
let the corsair land a V or better a XI on Fighter's Roll. activate Mighty Strikes. have fun
I still prefer a THF and a WAR in my tp-burn parties...there's nothing like double attack + crit hits.
I keep seeing norelco on these boards, I'm going to kidnap you to meritpo one of these days...

I actually COR/brd (yes /brd works now!) for the added ballad since the blms can take care of themselves. We will cycle through....
1) rest mp (healers, evokers + 1 ballad)
2) all 6 run out from camp and kill the 8 Puddings outside ending up chain#7 (wiz's roll, evokers + 1 ballad)
* repeat
The entire process (including rest back to full mp!) will be within 7.5~8 minutes. I rounded it to 8mins; in 8mins I got 2.1k exp our pt did an average 16k/hr.
The averages are taken in a pt span of 6hours. Our xp/hr was just ABSOLUTELY amazing...
P.S. Wiz's roll pay a slight noticable difference in the duration of the cycle; ie. the BLM will noticably consume more MP in a duration on a bad roll of Wiz's roll.
Since when are you allowed to have more than 2 song/roll effects active at the same time?Originally Posted by eeto

brd/cor can only have two -combined- effects up. 1 song 1 roll or 2 of one or the other.
Oh, my bad D:
EDIT: NEVERMIND I WAS RIGHT.
Manaburn parties can keep COR's I don't find them worth inviting to meripo tbh.
To anyone above who didnt take the time to test themselves before making a comment. YES, they'd changed... when? i dont kno cause i know it doesnt work before, BUT here are some screenshots to shut your mouths up. I would at least test myself to see if COR/brd's limitation holds true ...

SEE! 2 ROLLS and 1 SONG. I screenshot 3 images so you can see I switch songs and rolls and the 2 rolls 1 song still stays.
Ask a friend and test it yourself for another other possibility that it might not work. Cause I'm offended by few of you that didnt take the time to test things out before making comments to seem like i'm lying.
I don't have both BRD and COR unlocked on the same character, believe it or not.
So... I repeat, when the hell did they change that? I'm pretty certain S-E said themselves that they wouldn't stack, and I don't recall any announcement to the contrary.
I dont kno when, but just now i see a bunch of idiots that would jump on me about 1+1 more than 2.... etc... etc.. before really test things out.
The point of my post was obviously NOT about that COR/brd can have 2roll and 1 song, was about 5BLM + 1COR can yield 16k/hr.
