BTW - for future reference U has a WS that resets hate. Most likely it used that move right before your tank D/C'd so he was the only one with hate, after which nobody else did and U went unclaimed. I stole U off RMT this way and made an easy 10mil :))))

Unless they ban the people offering that product, of course. Not to mention, its sort of like throwing the baby out with the bathwater. No demand, no supply right? Time to ban the entire playerbase since everyone is a potential gilbuyer.

There's much much fewer gilsellers than there are players. You can't tell me that it would be better to ban a much much larger group to get rid of a smaller group? That must be why all the big drug busts are on drug addicts rather than cartels and growing operations. Oh wait...

It may not make sense in real world economics, but this is neither the real world nor are we discussing a normal legal real world product. This is Vana'diel, and we are discussing a virtual product SE has sole proprietary right to. SE can just ban them... if only they actually did. But the entire argument is probably moot since they're not likely to ban either the gilsellers or the gilbuyers. Least of all the gilbuyers (i.e. their biggest source of income).

Wafik summed it, your example was pretty much a fail according to Syman's response of them spamming the DoT on it. Sounds like you DoT then run and no longer act on it. That's how it sounds...

I've kited Despot... when I solo it on BST and theres greedy-ass players waiting for a pet swap and it to go yellow, COME ON its such an easy pop let me have the fucking sycthe.

I've lost hate two seconds after firing off a DoT. Literally. Cast Poison II, run around corner of ship, monster loses aggro, goes yellow. Then it sits there and Poison II wears off at it's normal rate, still dealing damage to an unclaimed monster.

Spamming the DoT doesn't matter. If it lost track of it's hatelist for some reason, the monster will go yellow. And if some dip is sitting there spamming claims on it, you have yourself a steal. You've done BST, you KNOW people sit there waiting for that changeover.

Also, oddly enough see the walls in Excavation Duty. I've spammed DoT's on those things and they'll actually go yellow between one and the next at times. Screwed up? Yes. Happens? Also yes.

The walls in Excavation Duty are a different case all to themselves. I've had a wall go unclaimed between hits of Rampage.

I wouldn't say it's underrated. Most console gamers give major props to this game. It was an excellent play, both times through. The only downside was having to constantly switch discs if you were going back and forth between cities toward the end-game.
