Auto-regen next? Seems kinda outlandish, but they have been pretty kind to Paladin.
Now they'll adress the MP sponge issue.
I think this will be the case. Auto-regen isn't the answer though. I'm guessing they'll add some sort of damage reduction tool, since they seem to want to avoid the VIT/DEF thing altogether.

As for ninja, as much as it might piss people off, I don't think that job should have the DD potential it has now. I definitely wouldn't be for giving them other things to aid thier damage like throwing weapon skills.

    continuous fighting
Defensive power (or possibly enmity) rises the longer you stay fighting/engaged on a (single?) target?

I think they mean continuous as in fighting many mobs without any need to stop, not a long single fight.

I think it would be better if it was a -Damage taken thing instead of increasing Defense, VIT, or Enmity. At least something that might make blood tanking worth it.

Regarding the goblin drink, this probably won't help much, but I had my jp friend take a look at the site to try and see if she can translate the ignredients. Unfortunatly her english isn't that good, but i did learn a few things that weren't posted on this thread.

    Shuvo says:
    What are the ingredients?
    117 says:
    giza-ru no yasai 2
    117 says:
    windas chaba
    117 says:
    hathimitu
    Shuvo says:
    lol i need a dictionary
    117 says:
    woter
    Shuvo says:
    water crystal?
    117 says:
    yami
    117 says:
    tume no haitta asabukuro
    117 says:
    dark crystal
    117 says:
    egg
    117 says:
but this is good or bad ,???
    Shuvo says:
    i don't know w
    Shuvo says:
    did it say anything else?
    Shuvo says:
    giza-ru no yasai x2 ?
    117 says:
    english muzukashi
    Shuvo says:
    np
    117 says:
    yes yasai 2
So in summary I learned that you need 2 of one of the ingredients (whatever za-ru no yasai is), a dark crystal, some egg, and some water (i'm guessing movopalis, maybe distilled).

<_< I just hope she was reading the right thing.

PLD are already quite good at not taking damage in XP. The shield boost helped a lot. If you're not fighting super IT mobs then paladins are very good tanks for XP parties now... if you ignoe the fact that they do horrible damage.

DD potential we have now? I'm not responding in a pissed-off way, but despite a couple Rare/Ex (brutal/haidate) I think I'm probably as pimped out as a NIN can be. Even so, in merit parties, trying to hold hate against people spamming WS can be a challenge. If we didn't have the damage output we have now (which isn't that great relatively speaking) there's no way we'd be able to effectively tank.

So, if you lowered NIN output, that means NIN is no longer a tank. If a NIN isn't a tank, what would a NIN's job be? Answer: someone who seeks for weeks and rarely gets an invite. Might as well level BST at that point.

You come off as completely clueless as to what a DD NIN can do. Let me guess, SH+1 and Scouter's Rope full time?

Kidding aside, you can't be serious man. You don't have haidate and brutal -- two pieces of gear that would GREATLY enhance your DD potential -- and you're claiming to be as pimped out as can be?

They do horrible damage because they don't try, not because they can't. Not saying PLD while tanking will be a great DD, but I've outparsed weak DD's while main tanking in exp (in Bibiki). Paladin can contribute a fair amount of damage in an exp party setting (shield mastery should help this...) but so many are still in the DEF/VIT mindset.

Edit: As for nin's, they did get nerfed a bit with the tp nerf. I didn't have much trouble out DDing nin's pre-dagger boost but I know there is a little room for improvement over the ones I've exp'd with. However there were also decently equipped nin's my pld/nin out parsed...well, one at least.

My point broken down for you:

Ninja. It is a top 2 endgame tank, top 3 endgame DD, top 3? endgame melee soloer. I can't say for certain on the solo thing cause all my jobs suck at it, so I dont' do it at all.

Ninja can do fucking stupid things in endgame tanking like NIN/DRK, NIN/BRD for stupid hate with like 90% damage mitigation minus magical AoE. Ninja is a badass merit job, maybe the best overall other than BRD. They can also solo, duo, and trio like no other than maybe BLM. Wtf else is there other than that? Hell they can even debuff short of crowd control. Ninja needs no boost at all.

Nerfs are stupid, they're band-aid remedies for poor design that just fuck people over, so I'm not even gonna come close to calling for one. But, dude, if you can't see how stupidly powerful that class is, then I'll doubt you even play it, at least you aren't playing it anywhere near it's potential.

While I agree ninja's aren't too bad off. You can pretty easily do anything in this game without a single ninja main.

Since I dont see any full translation and this is my first time to post, I've translated the interview. Hope it helps

    ■How to weaken Absolute VIrtue

If you defeat as much monsters (Ru'phuabo Qn'xzomit Qn'hpemde) as you can summoned by Jalier of Love, his regen will be reduced by half. Furthermore using elemental magic and skillchains based on certain vana day will remove the remaining regen.

    ■Warrior
    【Job's Strength】
Master of weapons and able to use a large variety of WS
We will adjust weapon limitations imposed by subjobs and types of weapons limited to warrior.

    ■Monk
    【Job's Strength】
Highly dextrous H2H fighter with high HP

We'd like to adjust monks to be able to adjust their moves based on various situations.

    ■WHM

An expert in white magery, excels in healing and support.

We will furthermore enhance whm's advantage as the main job and enhance its support ability to the party.

    ■Blm
    【Job's Strength】
A black magic expert that excels in dealing elemental magic damage.

Adjusting blm so that by partying with other jobs, blm will stand out more.

    ■RDM
    【Job's Strength】
    Enfeebling Magic expert

We'd like to emphasize the pleasure of utilizing rdm's flexibility to deal with various battle situations.

    ■THF
    【Job's Strength】
Attacker that deploys crafty attacks such as Sneak Attack and Trick Attack.

Adjusting thf so that they can improve the entire party's strength.

    ■PLD
    【Job's Strength】
The party's shield with high defence.

We'd like to improve PLD's ability to fight battles in succession.

    ■DRK
    【Job's Strength】
Attacker with key points in high attack and abs magic

Improving drk's strength when wielding scythe.

    ■BST

No change to its solo ability
We'd like to improve its potential as a party member.

    ■RNG
    【Job's Strength】
Attacker capable of dealing massive damage via ranged attack

Distance modifier on R.accuracy and attack will be adjusted
    ※Stay tuned for the update!
    ※※※※※

    ■BRD
    【Job's Strength】
Job that truly shines in a party. MMO's ultimate support job

We'd like to pursue the pleasure of using a variety of songs based on situations.

    ■SAM
    【Job's Strength】
Attacker that utilizes TP and WS.

Will revise Overwhelm for more damage bonus and provide a similar ability for lower levels. We're considering in providing new job abilities for level 25 and 35. The keyword is 2-Handed weapons, being able to select Offensive and Defensive. Furthermore if it is possible to pick 「SAM」 as a Subjob.........

    ※Stay tuned for the update!

    ■NIN
    【Job's Strength】
A job class with dual role of tank and attacker that utilizes Dual Wield and Ninjustu.

Instead of enhancing the job, we're planning to expand its role in party.

    ■DRG
    【Job's Strength】
Attacker that utilizes various jump and attacks with wyvern

Adjusting Super Jump's recast into 3 minutes.
Empathy will allow drg to share stoneskin with wyvern.
Spirit surge (2HR) will clear all Jump Recast back to 0

    ※Stay tuned for the update!

    ■SMN
    【Job's Strength】
Job that uses mp to summon avators and fight with it

    ■BLU, COR, PUP
There are still many factors to add and adjust. Please wait till X'mas.

^gets me really excited about the next update. XD Even though I should know better~ Could RNG be restored some of its former glory? Would a 3 min Super Jump timer allow DRG to sub WAR in merits and actually do good damage? SMN blood pact splitting and skillups on using BPs should've been done a while ago! /excited!
