Are you talking about Liero? That's the closest thing I know which fits your description.

Alright, when I get back from my trip I plan to have some friends over for a LAN gaming party. Now only thing is I need to know some fun LAN games! Right now we decided to play Age of Empires and Unreal Tournament, if anyone can reccomend me some fun LAN game's it would be great! Thanks! Also, we are mostly into FPS, but stuff like AoE and etc is fun. Any suggestions help.

When I read the title of the thread the first thing I thought was age of empires hehe. Age2 TC is the best imo ^^

reason I'm replying is it got me curious, is there anyone else around that played age online a whole lot?

Listen to this guy seriously it's really fun to play on LAN >_> Since everyone has mentioned CS etc I recommend Soldat if anyone ever played that although i have never actually tried it in LAN mode and Death really both are pretty old at least in terms of graphic but nevertheless good games if you're tired of only playing UT, CS, WC3, SC etc at LAN's

Scorched Earth was an amazing game at that time I could spend hours a day playing it >_>

If it isn't scorched earth you're looking for maybe it's Liero? It kinda looks like worms but it isn't turnbased like worms was, you dug around tunnels etc and shot down other worms

Someone mentioned Starcraft earlier but I'd forgotten about its biggest strength: it's one of the last games ever released to support 'spawning.' One legitimate copy can be installed on up to 8 different machines for LAN play.

Yeah I have great memories of playing Scorched Earth with friends in High School. Kind of like playing Prince of Persia, Carmen Sandiego, and Oregon Trail in Middle School. Those were the days.

Hunting was so awesome in Oregon Trail, and yeah you could only get so far in 30 minute computer time...i always had to go back to class before i could get to the end
