Plot twist are really weak at time. I like the show, but stuff like "the tape" with the cheerleader, or the car explosion are kinda stupid. I wish they would put more thought into making something more credible
My hugest gripe about the whole show: the son finding the book in the laptop, etc all just seem so scripted, and there arent really that many "Oh shit!" moments beside maybe Hiro coming back from the future.Originally Posted by Kaylia
I don't see Peter becoming a bad guy for one reason, and that's the fact that future Hiro mentioned Peter as a kind of leader. Nathan could maybe, but I don't really see that either. Yeah he's in with Linderman and the such, but that's more of him being a politician than a really bad guy.I am thinking that the guy who can only mimic the Supers powers around him will have something to do with the Radiation dude. Not everyone we have seen has been proven as a good or bad guy. It wouldn't suprise me that one of the brothers goes to the bad side, I think.
I am trying to figure out how Micah is going to play a huge role in the movie besides like starting up cars or making a door open.
I also think there's more to Micah's power(s) than we've seen. He knows things that he really has no reason to know. How did he know that Nikki slept with Nathan? How did he know he wasn't talking to Nikki on the phone, and why didn't that bother him?
I really like the cop but that's more because he was in Alias than because of his performance in Heroes.
i think Micah's dealt with Jessica a few times before already. he's probably just familiar with how his mom is rather than that being a manifestation of his powers (whatever they are).
alter-ego is the proper term.Originally Posted by Kabar

Linderman being a family friend of the Petrellis and also being DL & Nikki's "boss".
Hiro and Ando gambling with the "cowboy" who happens to be one of Linderman's guys.
Linderman using Nikki to setup Nathan.
Hiro and Ando driving up to the accident where DL & Micah is at.
Linderman buying the one painting Peter is looking for.
there's way too much chance relationships/interactions between the characters that make the show cheesy.
though if Linderman is part of the whole thing, some of this stuff would be pretty cool instead of cheesy (though it seems unlikely to me right now).
there needs to be more character driven actions.
Hiro going to Vegas because the comic said so.
Hiro calling Issac because Issac put his address and phone number in it.
Peter looking for Mohinder because his research led him to Chandra's book.
the show need more of this stuff where people are doing things for a reason and not a lot of things happening by accident.
i still like the show a lot though.
My biggest gripe is that some of the stories just have really weak support for their events. Like the cop story, when the girl was kidnapped, for some reason they were keeping her in a dark basement room, and somehow Syler got down there, and there were no guards visible who had been downed. Ok? Also in the cop storyline, the female FBI agent was convinced really fast that he had "psychic powers," and then nothing was mentioned in a report or anything, its like shes a rogue agent with carte blanche more than an FBI agent, she just does whatever, highly improabable. We also never saw a resolution to what happened when the cop feinted.
The brothers story is coming along well IMO, the DL/Ali storyline has a few eyebrow raisers, but its alright. The Hiro storyline is ok besides them being in the same area for the past 4 episodes when they're trying to make a cross-country trip. Storyline I'm most griped about though is Mohinder, not only did he seem a really moody character, with one minute talking about the genius of his father, the next minute saying he was retarded, but they just kinda throw him in there to not do much of anything, and then made him leave. Meh.
I still can't wait each week for the new episode though, lol.
she is kind of rogue, no one else in the FBI is buying the Sylar theory. her "boss???" thinks all the murders are unrelated.Originally Posted by Palin

Wow, you guys are already turning against the show. How fickle are we?
There's a difference between turning against the show and pointing out its weaknesses instead of blindly saying "OMG BEST SHOW EVAH ITS PERFECT." I'm pretty sure most people who post in this thread still watch it intently.Originally Posted by dietvanillapepsi

because it supposedly depicts extraordinary things happening to real people.Originally Posted by Tyche
and the way most of the characters react in this show is a lot more realistic than like X-Files.
sometimes people really don't want to fly and it is bad to be able to hear everyone's thoughts all the time.
i'm not turning on the show, if i was i wouldn't be posting on this thread any more.Originally Posted by dietvanillapepsi

I guess I am more into the "sit back and enjoy the ride" mode than some of you guys. My expectations are also lower; I compare this to a comic book (whose style it tries to mimic) rather than comparing it to The West Wing or w/e. Convenient coincedences are the norm nowadays so I am unfazed by them. It's the Lost principle.
I am just afraid you guys will start getting too concerned with the "reality" of the show. Once people start getting into time travelling paradoxes and the physics of flying then we are in trouble.
Like why did Hiro keep making phone calls to Issac in Japanese when his friend could have done them in English? Why does Peter still think his main power is flying when he's already proven to himself that his true power is to copy the powers of others? See? Even I can't help myself
I think some people enjoy analyzing the shows they watch even if they overall don't get something 'meaningful' out of it. As already said, pointing out a flaw doesn't mean the person hates the show overall.Originally Posted by dietvanillapepsi
Hiro had his friend listening to the conversation. I don't really think it would have made a difference if his friend made the call. I would assume Isaac would just think "insane JP person who speaks English keeps calling me".Originally Posted by dietvanillapepsi
As for Peter, I don't get the impression that he believes his main power is flight. He knows he can fly and enjoys that idea (even if only under special circumstances).
Hiro told Ando in the parking garage in Vegas that he left his third phone message for Issac in Japanese. Ando never bothered to offer helping make the phone call until they finally did it together when Peter answered the phone. Even if the "insane JP person" called in English, at least Issac would know what the hell he was calling about instead of listening to gibberish. (Plus Hiro demonstrated in the diner that he can manage simple English just fine.)
As for Peter, in this week's episode, not only did he say he could fly in his dream to start the episode, but he also threatened his bother with flying when they were eating brunch. I am not saying he doesn't realize what his true power is but I am saying that he sure doesn't act or talk like it.
Ah crap, you sucked me into discussing minor plot points. Damn you.
There was a guard visible. He (she?) was nailed to a post about 4 feet up in the air, and appeared to be still connected to his chair. Wasn't a good angle though and was only shown for a couple seconds.Originally Posted by Palin
That wasn't his dream, it was Simone's father's right before he died. Or at least that's what I got from Simone's conversation with Peter. Also, he knows he can fly around Nathan. He explicitly stated that to Mohinder, as well as saying he could draw the future around Isaac. And he was with Nathan when he threatened to fly. Thus it was a very logical statement.
I suppose that's true. At least Hiro is attempting to get a message to Isaac despite his friend not helping him at first. Some simple English would have helped perhaps, but probably not enough to make a difference.Originally Posted by dietvanillapepsi

1) he was dreaming, also it might be a residual projection of Hiro and Issac's powers, since it seems like Simone's father also experienced it.Originally Posted by dietvanillapepsi
2) he knows what his powers are now pretty much, but Nathan doesn't know. he also knows when he's next to Nathan he actually can fly, so that's the "threat" he's using and it's not an empty threat either.
