At least to me, Heroes seems like one of those shows that won't be any good after season 1. Unless they come up with a hell of a storyline, anything else passed this season will just seem forced.

However, I want it to last as long as it can... such a good show. =(

As long as they do a better job than they did with Lost, I think I'll be happy. Not that I want to start a Heroes vs Lost thing(I'd find that just as annoying as Heroes vs 24)...

If they avoid doing too many "filler" episodes(and I can't think of any episode of Season 1 that was really filler) and don't push the metaphysical God element too hard, it'll be fine really.

Finding more heroes would be cool, but the cast is already huge, and adding more characters would take away from the bond they've already created with the current ones.

I'm not sure if you heard of the information before, but the man behind the show has hinted that Seasons will mainly new characters.

Also, I think you greatly underestimate the concept of a "Super Hero" show. Heroes isn't "action" based, it's drama based. A lot of potential beyond caped-crusaders.

I kind of thought that although they would stop the bomb this season, next season would be everyone who survived vs. Linderman and the Company. But I also read the interview BRP is talking about where the creator suggests different characters for different seasons. I would be kind of surprised if NBC allowed too much of that, though. Networks tend to be very protective of substantial changes to shows that are moving up in the ratings.

Okay so, regarding time paradoxes, having read the online comic it seems like the future isn't static and can be changed, but that they didn't do a good enough job of changing it already. So this next episode will take place in that semi-changed future where Claire is still alive and Sylar didn't get her powers but the bomb still went off, etc. Or maybe the writers want to say that some minor things can be changed but there is ultimately an element of fate involved so that no matter what you do the bomb is going to go off just like Charlie was going to die whether or not Hiro went back to try to save her.

Regarding Isaac discovering a way to kill Sylar, it looked to me like one of the drawings he sent off showed someone piercing a syringe into the base of another person's skull.

Another thing people haven't mentioned in this thread is that it seems like Nathan and Peter's mom has some kind of power. That would make sense because it seems to be largely hereditary, and their dad clearly doesn't have a power because he was all "wtf" when Linderman healed him in Nam. Also makes me suspect (more than I already did) that Hiro's dad has some kind of power, because Linderman said a group of them found one another and teamed up, and Hiro's dad was seemingly a part of Linderman's organization when he told Mr. Bennet to adopt Claire.

Also, regarding future seasons sucking, I felt the same way about 24 when season 1 ended, and yet I've been watching it religiously for 6 years now, so it just goes to show I think that it isn't about the show as we know it now but whether they do justice to the ideas they developed in future seasons and try to make them good in their own right instead of just slapping something together to put on the air for one hour a week.

That's pretty much why I recommended a prequel (is that the same thing as prologue? >.>) From when they had said previously that they probably would do all new heroes, they could actually do new actors, but same characters just when they were younger.

it seems Syler kills Candice (the shapshifter) and takes over as Nathan Petrelli. In the US trailer he says how he's the President of the United States and 'the most special person in the world' which leads me to believe that's how he was able to get so close to Claire in the Canadian tralier. Also, it seems that the genocide is Syler's way of making sure he's the only 'special' person left alive. Since it seems they (heroes) are being persecuted in the future.

IN SHORT:In Peter's vision, Nathan gets blown up by Peter when he goes 'boom' (probably couldn't stand the guilt of prospering off so many deaths), Syler paints Nathan as the President... Future Nathan is leading a genocide against Heroes... Syler wants to kill the Heroes so he's the only 'special' person... Ok, I'm done guessing

Go read the online comics that are posted after each episode. They fill in some pretty huge blanks in the show. This weeks issue is told from the perspective of Future Hiro and directly mentions that the heroes are hated in the future, which although it doesn't specify exactly how they are treated. (ie, is it KKK style persecution by individuals/groups acting out of their own hatred, or is it Nazi style governmental persecution). Either way, it likely sucks pretty bad for them, and will most definitely be seen in the next episode.

For those of you who don't read the online graphic novel, like many have said before, you should do so, as it reveals some rather interesting things that probably deserved to be in the episodes, but weren't. Others are simply extra backstory that could just as easily have not been written, but are nice to have.

One multi-comic storyarc was easily warranted in getting an entire episode devoted to it, but I guess they decided not to. Pretty much gives the entire backstory of Linderman and Sr. Petrelli. Also, as of right now Wireless got like 30 seconds of screentime in the show, but in the webcomics, shes the focus of at least 10 comics.
