Ive already debunked my own theory dont worry. It does make a lot of sense.

I wouldnt be shocked though if at some point in the series (season 3 or 4) they have to deal with a syler from the future\alternative timeline.

those other benefits aren't really from the power of flight. and i find it really annoying that they don't translate to other things when they are not flying. someone with the natural physical resistance to travel at flight speeds should have high natural physical resistance to a lot more things.

Flight is also just pretty damn useful in general for having the greatest threats become simple annoyances. Like "Oh shit, the building is about to explode... oh wait, I can just jump out of a window with two friends in hand".

He could also grab something, like something sharp or something that would protect him from impact, and just crash into someone really hard.
this stuff can only happen given the person is physically strong enough to carry that weight. also a telekinetic can do the same exact things.

    that's what telekinesis is too.

Well, in the episode where Nathan escapes from HRG and the Haitian in vegas, he landed next to that diner in some dry ass dirt, barefoot, skidding from going hundreds of miles an hour. I think that would prove that he's a bit tougher than most people

Again, fucking gravity in the ass. An object's weight is mostly decided by gravity.

And I didn't say flying was better than telekinesis. Telekinesis is the most "powerful" ability a person can have really, maybe outside time manipulation... then again, if you really push the limits of Telekinesis(like on Phoenix or Nate Gray level), you can mimic that too. I don't think that'll be happening in Heroes though.

I wouldn't underestimate flying. Nathan seems like a pansy though, so we probably won't see him apply it to anything cool.

And yeah, it seems he does have natural resistance to flying at extreme speeds. He does break the sound barrier and lands unharmed.

Random thought: What if Sylar got the Haitian's power? >_>

i know that, what i was saying is they don't ever use that toughness. what's the difference between landing on dry ass dirt and not hurting yourself and landing on someone's head and not hurting yourself? the second application is actually pretty useful but i don't see it ever happening.

how is that not contradictory? all i'm saying is that it's worse than telekinesis which can reproduce all the same affects. and there are 2 people on this show capable of telekinesis.

i don't understand where you're going with this. how does self flight imply the ability to alter the effect of gravity on any object the person touches?

    Applied force and velocity.

Well it's the same idea as someone sitting inside of a jet that breaks the sound barrier. Or a fighter pilot flying at Mach 3. Their body loses all weight because of the applied force and following velocity of the jet.

The question is, how would someone not Nathan be able to withstand that force without throwing up, having a siezure, windburn etc etc if he took them at that speed.

But suspended imagination is ok imo.

I was thinking about this with Peter the other night, it's sort of an opposite of opposites situation, but I suppose Sylar could kill him with human means (gun) and take care of business

I don't believe Peter can get the Haitian's power, since he blocks powers. Otherwise Peter would already have it (since they know he blocks powers). The Haitian blocks all mental powers, including Peter's "empathy".

But as was noticed earlier, Parkman was able to use his telepathy while standing right next to the Hatian in the future episode. There were also a couple cases in the present where a hero has been able to use their powers in the presence of the Hatian (Eden putting down Sylar for one),which implies he has to concentrate on a particular person or group of people. Also a side note, a lot of people have made the statement about the Hatian blocking only mental powers, but how is Hiro's a mental power really?

So far the Haitian has always been blocking Peter when close to him, aside from the first time they saw each other and Peter ran, but I'm guessing Peter wasn't in range to pickup his power.

Or you could interperate it as him allowing them to use their powers seeing as he was allined with said person in each occurance

it's possible that by using it on peter it gives it to him, and Peter just does not know, since his current time self is so Nieve

I honestly think the Haitian messes with people's brains. Like he can turn certain parts off. This explains why he can both erase memories and turn people's powers off. Maybe he makes them "forget" their power. That said, if he focused his power on someone else while Peter watch, then Peter could probably copy his power.

I think the Haitian just sets his own power to an "aura" mode, where he turns off the "X-gene" around him. He can probably turn it off if he wants to.

I'm not exactly sure why people try to rationalize a power as long it doesnt contradict itself. We know he can delete people's memories, and we know he can cancel the "unwanted" power around him.

My biggest question atm is, what would happen if Hiro went back in time to kill Sylar 4-5 years ago before he start gathering power. What kind of impact it would have on the world? >_> Just like future Hiro created a new future, it's not farfetched to think present Hiro could create a new present going back in time.
