If their intention was to show he activated a new power, I believe they would have put in a wtf moment. Peter doesn't seem to me like he's just going to do whatever and not question using a power he hasn't seen while completely unaware of the extent of what might occur while using it. He wouldn't need to stop his rampage either, but he wasn't the least bit surprised at it.

I don't think you understand Hollywood at all. The main focus of that scene was to cause two things:

rage
confusion

They weren't trying to give peter internal dialogue, they we scene was focused on the triangle that is Peter,Isaac and Simone. Adding in a wtf moment at his new found power would simply add an element to the scene which would deter the main focus.

God you're arguing the most illogical point. Just because it wasn't 100% confirmed it was a new power doesn't mean it's not, and there is more than enough proof since Sylar has already used it once we can make the connection. Stop trying.

If the main focus was rage and confusion, they wouldn't need to add in a new ability at all. Telekinesis was more than enough to explain the scene. It is essentially redundant if it was something else.

Just because it isn't 100% confirmed wouldn't mean it is a new power either. Where did Sylar use it with Claire's mother? All he did was telekinetically shove her into the shelves, walk up to her in slow motion and say "hi" in a very deep voice. Then he gets shot by Bennet. He didn't knock her back with his voice or anything of the sort. So, there is a lack of proof. Watch the scene again.

This pretty much sums up my feelings about it. What's to say that when Claire's mom flew into the cabinet that it wasn't Sylar using telekinesis? I mean there is really no difference whatsoever between a dude with telekinesis using a different tone of voice and a super-voice.
