And the fact that he was there on some mission to "save the world" that involved her, and she used her power and was just as shocked about it as she was at first about hers...that should give you a bit of a connection with someone.

In that clip when Hiro holds up the sword, it looks like some one is behind him. I am guessing Linderman but not sureeeee, looks like him.

That's one possibility, but Sylar could also realize how powerful Peter is now (because Peter had no powers first meeting) and have to flee, with someone coming in to make Peter stop from going after him. Then Sylar begins to go on a rampage eating brains to gain the powers necessary to defeat Peter.

This reminded me of the worst cliffhanger ever. Back when Brian Michael Bendis was writing Daredevil at the end of an issue, DD is kinda stressed out and doing his wole building hopping thing. And all of a sudden he sees Electra (who was dead at the time) Big final page frame, to be continued. At the start of the next issue, she runs away and he does not follow her, she never makes another apperance for that story arc.
