Well, as long as the analogy is correct (about being like 24 rather than Lost), I have no problem with it. Unless they decide to kill off a majority of the characters like what happened in 24 last season...

Prior to Mohimbar drugging Sylar didn't Sylar ask to help him by going to talk to Isaac? That's why I think, along with the SSs posted that its Isaac.

Yeah, I couldn't believe they killed off Edgar. That was sad.

I'd be more than happy if it was a lot of sub-stories for a few seasons introducing a lot of heroes with their own backstories, and then having them all meet up after a few seasons to form an x-men type team.

Yeah, but then you might as well just watch X-Men movies or read the comic books.

I'm sure a big issue in future seasons will be people finding out about this and freaking out and then there will be whole people vs. mutants thing.

That's a terrible idea. It'd turn into a big Lost type of shitty show where you just don't care about anyone. Introducing alot of mini characters instead of a few main characters makes you just not care too much about any of them. It's what happened with Lost. First they had the main characters, then the others, then they started fleshing out characters from each side until it got to the point where people don't give a fuck about anyone on the show anymore and when one dies it's like, "oh well."

Heroes needs to stick to a couple people, not keep introducing random people, which ends up introducing questions that won't be answered etc. etc.,

I think that having a new cast for season 2 would be better. Introducing another 15 mini characters that won't get as much backstory and characterization as say, introducing another 2 or 3 would would be honestly annoying.

I agree, the cast is pretty big as it is... if they are to introduce new people, it would have to be a whole new cast with a whole new situation. There really isn't any point to the current cast after the bomb blows up anyways, so it would make sense in that regard.

This is also a clever way to ensure that no one member of the cast gets too big of a head and screws the show by holding out for more money. The longer a cast member is on the show, or the more important a single character is on the show, the more problems you will run into when it comes to contract negotiation. Thus, by keeping the show bigger than the individual stars, they're seemingly hoping to turn this into a long term deal. It's a risk though. The formula may backfire on them if viewers feel that they can't connect with anyone with the revolving door of cast members, or may feel betrayed if a favorite of theirs is killed off.

Yeah I agree.. and since there are supposedly thousands of these people out there, they could just use new stories, ideas, and characters each season....and maybe keep like, a few key characters around like HRG and Linderman or w/e.

Networks kill off characters that want too much money/more screentime/blahblahblah being princess-y etc. Take Ian Somerholder from Lost for example, or that chick who played his sister. They thought they were some big hotshots, when they weren't, and got killed off very shortly after.

I'd keep watching if they switched characters though, I think it'd make it like a fresh show each season. I think they'd run out of superpowers for them to use after a while though.

We'll see. Is there confirmation that they are even doing a second season yet? They could very well just make this a one season show, and end with the bomb blowing up and/or NYC being saved.

Earlier in the thread it was confirmed that they are in fact doing a second season. That's where all the talk of "possibly bringing in a new cast" came from.

I might be dead in the next few minutes after saying this because of a certain resident female's actions towards me but, anyone else think HRG lost his spark after the mind-erase thing? All the scenes he was in were kinda snoretastic. =\ He's trying to save Claire, no one will let him go after her, he has no more "secret" information anymore, AND he's now in The Company's control. =(

NBC is sitting on a gold mine and they know it. They'll milk it for everything they can, and eventually the show will be run into the ground like Lost has. :D

Yeah up until last week I thought he was all cool and stuff, now he's just boring when we know his true motives.

I thought all of the HRG stuff was really cute. That's just me though.

Seems like you were hoping he really was a bad guy.. Would have been cool either way, but I kind of liked that he turned out to really care about his daughter..
