that is pretty much what wow is. gold is so easy to get in wow that for people to actually buy it, just pathetic. large amounts of gil are alot harder to come by, especially now with how bad rmt are.Originally Posted by spooky

Hopefully, if they are, these will be internal S-E employees, not outsourced numptys. I'm pretty certain a lot of our problems are due to the management of the Customer Service people not wanting to ban people because it looses their employer money.
why dont mmo companys just band together and sue the shit out of IGE for © infrigment or wtf ever
because legally going after companies in other countries is very expensive and financially it makes no sense.Originally Posted by senoska
your aware that IGE has a american based part of their company correct? There was an interview done not too long ago and it was metioned. I beleave its in FL[?]Originally Posted by layoneil
More Translation on how SE will deal with RMT on October.
■Importance of the MMORPG's Economy
If there are inflation, items will be too expensive for beginners impeding the quality of the game. Slight inflation is necessary to keep the gameplay normal.
-In FFXI's Case
Currently anti-cheating measures are being implemented and we're observing deflation as a result. As a result all player's overall bank should be depleting steadily resulting in a normal economy.
・Problem in Monopolizing NM
・Dealing with problems in fishing macro
■Future Stances
We have established a new team separate from the GM team called the "Special Tactics Team" for October, enabling them to work with the dev. Team to handle illegal activities occuring in the game. Since it is difficult to determine whether such activities are being conducted from in-game evidence alone, we're planning to use many other ways possible to deal with it.
In order to totally annihilate all illegal activities (Especially against 3rd party software-Bots,Hacks), we're going to try hard to employ all resources to combat them. Please note that we're serious about it.
Thats it for the translation, basically they repeatedly said they're going to get rid of rmt/bots etc. The original scripts are listed below.
How about the other way around, why can't SE kick off all RMT, and do it over and over over over. Are they going to sue SE?Originally Posted by senoska

I don't think they have the manpower to really tell who's RMT and who is a legit LS camping the same shit over and over. It's easy for players to spot, but not so much for people that don't spend a lot of time on the server. Maybe this new task force or whatever is going to address that issue.Originally Posted by Everlasting
Some people claimed and killed King Arthro last night on my server. I couldn't tell if they were RMT or not. There was an AJ thief, two Scorp Harness and Op. Hat ninjas, and a BLM that nuked in a Black Cloak. That seems like a typical RMT group to me, but they all had linkpearls and normal names. I never had contact with them before. Were they RMT? I dunno. Would a GM know for sure? No.
RMT isn't that easy to spot when they're camping NMs with 50 or 100 other people around.
If you took down IGE it would in itself totaly close down a very VERY large chunk of the RMT buisness. It would make an example of them. If the MMO companys took IGE for everything they had, others would close down for fear of the same happaning to them. Granted it wont wipe out all RMT it will take out a HUGE chunk. When there are no buyers, there are no sellers. The small chinese warehouses would close down when no company is buying it.
yes, i'm aware. i even have the exact address. you're not understanding how pointless this kind of litigation would be and how ultimately SE or any other software company would lose considerably more money than they would gain.Originally Posted by senoska
Than we should have someone go to the H.Q. in FL and destroy everything over night. Problem solved.
except you won't find anything there since the actual operations are in Hong Kong.
So they lose more money than they gain in a one-time operation to eliminate all gilselling companies. At least it'll finally be over, and they won't have to deal with gilsellers ever again, even if they did have to pay a big chunk for it to happen.Originally Posted by layoneil
Unless you meant lose more money than they gain, and still not eliminate gilsellers.
Or if IGE's lawyers are better than SE's.. they may win the right to operate in everygame.
