Yeah you can run the connection through a PC and run it into the PS2. Can sniff all the packets before they even hit the PS2 and modify packets after it leaves the PS2 and before it goes back out on the internet. Lets not tell people that PS2 users can cheat lol. I don't really think it's possible, if you play PS2 when you login you should see a message called Verifying DNAS(Digital Network Authentication Service i think)
It detects modifications to the PS2, (i.e. mod chips) if you were running a modded PS2 it probably would detect it.
