If you seem to have such a harsh time with extreme analogies, then lets have a more down to earth one. You are in a math class that will grade the next test on a curve. The test is really fucking hard, much harder than is what is really expected of you. Lets say, if no one in the class is cheating, then no one will get over a 50% on it.

Now lets get into your train of thought for a moment. You KNOW for a FACT someone in the room is cheating (because as we all know, human beings are naturally selfish and if there are more people than you can efficiently keep an eye on, one of them must be doing something wrong). Naturally, if one person is cheating (doing it well might I add, they aren't caught by the professor - whom represents the wonderful GM team we have), the curve will be set high, and you are going to get fucked on the test. If no one is cheating, then the curve will be set quite a bit lower and you will have a lot better grade.

What do you do, based on the assumptions you have made?

You can either
a.) Cheat. Screws over your innocent classmates if no one was cheating, but gives you a fair chance at passing the test if some one was.
or
b.) Don't cheat. If no one was cheating, your grade should be high. If someone else was, you are screwed.

Theres a real word example of your moral character at work.

that example really fits a BC fight(everyone is getting a fair share of the battle, just like everyone is getting a fair share of the doing the test) where you know people are cheating, therefore you say: well, its really hard to beat this BC, so im going to cheat like everyone.

See none of these analogies matter because the consequences in the real world are real. In a video game all they can do is ban your character, that to me isn't harsh at all. Just go play another game if you get banned. Figure out new ways to ruin others fun in that new game. That seems to be the trend in multiplayer games. Nothing is going to make botting or cheating of any kind right, but if you can't understand why people do it then you are stupid. RMTing is just as bad as botting by the way, same with fish botting. Its all the same shit to me.

Even if Stan made real dollars off the LS fund, in my estimation he did the most work and handed all of us that were in that LS everything we could have ever wanted to out of this rediculous game.

Now I'm also not supposrting what Stan did with the gil but it was probably a 50% chance whoever had that LS fund was going to take it and make a nice profit off it at some point. I'm just glad the person who was most deserving of it was the one to do it.

Really? in my example, there were no actual "real world" consequences for cheating, because the teacher was unable to catch cheaters...
All my example showed was the lack of moral character a cheater has, in any situation. Unless you have multiple personality syndrome, your values don't differ from outlet to outlet, especially when there are no real world consquences in either.

The real world consequences are there whether you get caught or not. People still do wrong things despite horrible consequences of course. Botting nets you a banning in a video game lol. Cheating in school gets you in real trouble sometimes. If you get away with it you will keep doing it, someday you will get caught no matter how slick you are. Whaaaat???? Sounds like he was also handsomely rewarded for his extra efforts, but that sure as fuck doesn't justify RMT'ing LS funds that by definition, were obtained and earned by the entire LS. If that wasn't the case it would've been RMT'd with his original account and liquidation.

i worked hard for my ridll and other stuff, i passed Koenig for "Helpme". never had one. i still, to this day, say that my character belongs to the LS, because w/e real money it will get me it was from the help of all the people in Excellence, its not mine alone even if i didnt like them. Stan doesnt deserve anything LS bank.

He didn't have to cheat, just like you didn't have to use IGE's site to tell you when to take advantage of dumbass gilbuyers. He uses his advantage on the internet to get himself a Dalmatica, you use yours to fund your relic. Both are available to all PC users if they choose to.

You guys should just quit FFXI now if you can't handle the cheating, SE will never be able to stop it. It is like the "War on Drugs" in that it is unwinnable. Same with dealing with prostitutes. All SE can do is make a system where the cheating doesn't effect your gaming experience.
