Anyone have a shot of what is shown when you get an ark pentasphere *prior* to completing ZM14?

If it says they're reinfused I'm willing to say that it means you can choose another earring. It makes sense, I'm sure everybody who tried to get another earring from the BC didn't actually make their own pentasphere for it, just tried to leech from someone else. This way you are actually reactivating the quest and forcing the game to allow you to rechoose.

Actually I'm close to 100% positive from instinct alone that if you open the BC now you can choose another earring. And even if you don't win on your pentasphere you can still get another earring simply because your shards are reactivated.

100% sure you don't need shards to get a pentasphere, I never did a single 6 man fight, and got a sphere for my first ever DM run.

A member of my shell no longer has their DM earring, I'm going to sugest they give this a shot, and post results.

I'm going to have to 100% agree. I made my own pentaspheres before even seeing an Ark Angel. My first AAx5 win, I got all 5 shards at once. I had never fought them individually, and I still never have. I finished the ZMs after that.

But I can't think of any reason I'd be wrong. After you beat the AA BC I believe you obtain all the shards then choose one for the earring to be made from. Reobtaining the BC item recharges those shards which you have, so the next logical assumption is that you can rechoose an earring after doing the BC. Idk, maybe my logic is flawed but I really doubt it.

Best way to test this at this point is to have the OP get some BLMs to get a pentasphere or something that got the earring already and just manaburn it. After manaburning it they could all try to get the earring or w/e and see if it works.

I don't get anything from the ??? in Ruavitau, well it's actually not a ??? it's just a nothing that you can target... but yeah didn't get anything. If somebody wants to throw their earring to test if they get a cs be my guest.

Oh i think i know the reason behind this now, its simply just for story mechanics i suppose. Since you already beat the ark angels, you poses their "energy" or something in the form of those shards. since they're "dead" you cant kill them again but when you get another pentasphere, the energy of romaeve reabsorbs their energy from the shards into the pentasphere. Then when you bring it to the bc they come back to life.


"The energy of Ro'maeve infuses the shard of xxx" means the romaeve energy is the one infusing the shard, not the shard infusing the energy.
