Really not that hard to figure out. Just look at the stats of the earring, and then look at the abilities of each brother in the fight....they all correspond.
That's pretty much how I got it too.

As for Kam and Eald not being "crystal", take another look at the cutscene after completing that BC. Magicite go boom.

While it may sound reasonable, you're just making stuff up. Gilgamesh says that they're treasures that he's aquired and he lets you pick one. They're not from the brothers.

I got Abyss and still use it, and will probably use it for a long time. I do not regret it because it has already served me for like 2 years and thats enough to be worth it, even if I level NIN or WAR and suddenly see Suppa being something I want.

The message has been there forever. Originally, you needed to beat each of the AA BCs to get a Pentasphere, so it made sense to infuse the shards. They changed it, but never changed the message. To everyone who thought they'd get a new earring, sorry, you're still SOL.

They did change the message, actually.

They removed the part about infusing the shards for those who didn't do any of the individual AA fights or AAx5 before making their pentasphere.

Well, you can only infuse the shard if it's in your key items, so they probably always had it check your key items for them, and under normal circumstances it would have all 5. Get a sphere with only one or two of the BCs done, you'll only get the message for those shards.

If they originally had it so you needed the individual mission fights before you could get a pentasphere, they never would have bothered having it check for the shards. So the message had to have changed. I doubt it always checked, if it is true that you originally needed the individual AAs done first.

I got my own pentasphere and entered DM. I've never even attempted the regular AA missions and don't ever plan to. I went through hell to win DM a year ago after several attempts lol. The funny thing is I got a Suppa based on everyone saying don't pick anything except Suppa... Mine has sat in storage since the day I got it >.> Now I'm levelling SAM and well now I want a Bushi =( Dam all those people who told me to get Suppa -.- I have 0 intention of taking my Nin past 37 or my Blu past 3 ><

And I always said I'd never level WAR past 5 (only reason I originally got WAR to 5 was for the DRK quest ;_

I took Bushinomimi and I have no regrets over doing so. The benefits of Suppanomimi are largely for XP/limit PTs alone, and I've never seen the point of making unrepeatable or hard to change choices based on XP efficiency. I always select merits based on HNM work efficiency alone, and I applied the same thinking to my choice of DM Earring.

There are other earring options for my NIN in XP. The difference is marginal at best.

And you think 5g.ktn skill will be noticeable on HNM when the only thing you do is probably SaTa WS. >_>

5% DW probably give a signifiant amount of hate on HNM you melee for nin, its use is not only in xp.

Nope lol I pretty much don't solo anything in this game. I don't find it fun to solo and would rather do things in groups with friends. The only time I ever solo is on blm for an hr or so occassionally to get my buffer back up since getting blm exp pts is near impossible and manaburns bore me to death.

You should give it a try sometime. It is fun soloing things that people say you cannot. I think my favorite solo fight was San d'Orian mission 7-1, an Orc MNK NM named Marauder Dvogzog- its hundred fists was a lot of fun. Sewer Syrup is a great fight, so is the Plague Chigoe except a lot harder because of the time constraint. (You have to kill it before it eats all of your MP.) And of course, as a RDM you would be remiss if you never solo Prime Avatars or the Shadowlord. (Seriously, it is a right of passage for RDMs to solo avatars or the Shadowlord for someone.)

Consider Trick Attack weaponskills. An effective 5 accuracy and attack, with 2 STR, on a single item. Simply irreplacable, IMO.

5% DW probably give a signifiant amount of hate on HNM you melee for nin, its use is not only in xp.
Most NINs I see within melee range of a HNM are wearing damage reduction and haste in every slot they can manage. That doesn't leave them a lot of room for the kind of accuracy and attack necessary to perform significantly in melee damage. Your mileage may, of course, vary.

Besides, I am working on Amanomurakumo. I would be foolish to go for anything besides Bushinomimi.
