it's a much better justification of a job choice than LOL meriting. especially since anyone who wants to level a job for the purpose of meriting should be leveling BRD.

I think his point was that if you want merits, regardless of where you go or what you do or what job you play in any situation otherwise, you'd pick that job if it were your priority.

I posted it yesterday woman look it up >:o lol
then this came out and it actually seems like it could work.

Greatsword might be unusable just for the fact of the crappy skill cap (250) but pld staff skill gets to 269 and with a stick like Kinkobo you have a potentially high damaging weapon (68 dmg) with a crit hit+5% bonus, and the (short but sweet) enchantment of less delay and accuracy+10. Throw in full swing's potential beastliness and spirit taker's mp chakra effect and you could have something. With the dd potential and the enmity+ a pld can wear, combo'd with third eye spam and the usual paladin crap, it could work. At least in exp/merit.

yup, MNK is second rate when you spend 3 hours a day for a year or 2 botting a big grey dragon against 3 or so other LS*.

some people have the free time to do that, but I can just spend a few months leveling MNK to 75 and automatically do more damage in merits than 95% of the server.

As opposed to sucking the dicks of said botters for a hand me down black belt? "Joyeuse" isn't a POS stopgap you know. Granted they wont do as much damage as me in a party but then again neither will you.

And I think my point was that the reason BRDs get PTs so easily is because there are never enough of them to go around. If everyone was a BRD, everyone would be screaming for melee DDs.

I haven't leveled it since I hit 75MNK because BRD is fucking boring, and when I got the game MNK seemed cooler than singing to 5 other dudes in a manly voice.
