This thread got me thinking about all the SAMs on my server that either:

A. TP in nothing but hachiman gear/ shitty Str+ gear.

B. Go Hachiman Domaru+ Hakama Full time. Sorta like A but when will people understand what haub and at least SAM af pants are good for?

C. Use Kaz @ and past 72. nuff said.

And D. To the galka that Has osode and rajas but fulltime /war and /thf uses Hachi Hakama, Go kill yourself.

I can think of about 8-10 Samurai's on my server 70+ that fit the qualifications. Have people just become lazy? It's a shame to see such a great job be represented by the SAMs who do these things.

Once again, Christ, that's not gimp. It's subpar and a typical welfare THF but none of that gear is lacking, showing how they're 73 and all. Gimp would be lvl 14 dex rings, offhanding a stronger dagger, af body, etc etc.

I agree they're lacking a WS swap macro, though.

Uh no, that's pretty fucking terrible. Drone Earrings? Unyielding? AF BOOTS? Spike Necklace? And Misericordes are shit also, everything on that thief is shit.

If they at least made the effort to macro in and out cheap as hell yet appropriate gear they wouldn't be gimp. Just cheap as hell. Wearing that stuff full time for everything, though, is super gimp.

I agreed the lack of a WS swap was gimp, but it seems more lazy than gimp. None of that gear is THAT terrible for a THF, granted they seem to be living in 2004 but at least it's AGI+ earrings and not Morion or something. Again it's not gimp, subpar at total best. Players with signal pearls or INT rings on a WAR, that's gimp.

I'd say its borderline.

Thief is a very gear-swap dependant job. Gearswaps alone can account for a couple extra damage.

I'm willing to bet that thief's SA's were peaking at around 200 damage. A gearswapping thief would do around 300 average. Now, take the amount of minutes you're xping, divide that by 1/5 (not everyone uses SA the instant its up), and then multiply that by 100. Thats how much damage is lost from SA alone.

Edit: Actually.. doesn't Fenny's Stone add 30 HP under certain conditions? Along with Saotome Domaru adding 34, Seiryu's Kote adding 50, etc. Still.. lots of HP there.
