Because those levels are so painful that you need to get through them as quickly as possible, so you get good gear and eat food in the hopes that you drive up the performance of the string of crappy parties that you are going to get in order to end the suffering as quickly as possible..

I have been PLing my second character's BLM because I parties make me sad. Got from 27-30 last Saturday night, that made me fairly happy. Anyone know a good BST pet leveling guide so I can get him to 40?

I'll go there if I know the thread isn't dumb. I'm trying to figure out the best place to go at level 30. I looked around Misareaux Coast for Gigas Warwolfs but I couldn't find any. (I could have sworn I saw them near the shield NM pop spot.) I might try the Goblin and Gigas tigers in Beaucedine Glacier, but it is a bit of a hike. Or maybe the leeches in Zi'Tah.

All I know is that this is about 10000000000 times better than XP parties. >_>

I've personally just finished levelling SMN and DRG both from 31-37 in Zi'Tah. There are 3 Goblin Traders around the outpost (normally one to the left, one to the right and one just across the pond to the north) and the Leeches are easy to pick off. Whenever I got a link from Gaylas or a Robber I would just run it around the outpost until it despawned. It took me about 7 hours to finish up DRG and a few more for SMN (about 9-10) due to deaths from my pathetic DEF.

Currently I think he's in Pso'xja one-shotting pet bats with AM.

That's honestly not -terrible- for a THF's TP gear. They don't get much in the way of pants--republic subligar is probably the best you can get with the exception of Bravo's/Homam/Galiard.. The rest is just some weird, sorta half-assed STR build for WAR sub.
