Yeah, that's what I assumed too.

I remember the first time I saw Tubgirl and Goatse (back to back, no less... go me) I was too little to really comprehend how gross it was. Was 7ish years ago, so after X'ing my way out, I kind of forgot about it.

People are imune to 9/11 pictures after seeing them 3 billions time on TV. Not seeing any human on the picture also lessen the impact. It's hard to feel sympathy for a plane or a building. You can still imagine people inside, but it will never create the same kind of feeling, because you don't "know" them .
