So, I'm all excited about this game. It's been forever since I've played a pokemon game, since like Gold/Silver, oh those were the days. Anyway, this one seems its going to be flat out awesome.

It's out in Japan and got sold out on day one with heavy demand. I saw pictures of lines longer than street blocks to get copies. I think they shipped 2 million too, lol. (lolpsp).

Some random info. You can send your pokemon from older GBA games(I've never played them, so whatever) to the new games, but its not so simple. First, it can't be reversed. Second, you have to catch them in somekind of park. I also heard the trade over Wifi is very unique. You can search people who are willing to trade pokemon you want and what they are looking for.

Anyway, I'm picking the penguin.

Someone's gotta explain this to me, because the way it sounds to me someone released 10-14 versions of the 'exact same game' and asked people to pay 20-40 bucks for 'each' of them.

Now, my bullshit sensor goes off the charts with that assessment, so could someone explain the point of 10-14 pokemon games?

I dont understand pokemon series. They make millions out of it and give you game that worth absolutely nothing. They could make it looks like they give a damn and improve graphic or gameplay, but it's still the same thing

New features, new storyline, new challenges... hey its like any sequal ever lawl. Though, I've never played anything beyond Gold/Silver, Gold/Silver were a lot different than Red/Green/Blue/Yellow. Unless what you are saying is why do they release multiple versions of one game at a time, well that is to make people rely on trading I guess. I wouldn't imagine you are suppose to buy them all, but you could.

(And the gameplay isn't so different than most oldschool RPGs, which would include FFs. A bit simple, but thats how its always been).

The gameplay and battles were -perfect-, they added a minor improvement between GB, and then GBC with the interface, tthere was another update in the GBA with the interface and the fact you can do 2 v 2 fights.

The games are not all the same, but they follow a similar pattern which is amazingly simple and effective. None of this "The world is ending" BS, it's lighthearted and fun.

Anyway, on topic, I'm very excited for the new pokegames. The old > New is interesting, having my lvl99 pokemon from the other games - I'm interested. Especially Mr Mime, but does it require you to be Wifi'd or something? Im hoping it's something like putting your old cart in the bottom of the DS, and sticking the new cart in the top, BUT, If I remember correctly you cant use GB/GBC games, so i'd have to transfer it to the GBA ones (which I never bought) first? Ack.

Wafik, there is a baby version of Mr Mime now. Mime Jr. Anyway, stronger the pokemon(I'm guessing in level), the harder it is to catch.

I used to watch the show and play some of the cards too, then a bit after a year, itll all went down hill, everyone was in to it and it just sucked after they started milking everything for what its worth.

The original Red and Blue were good, after that it wasnt anything new, but I might try and give these a shot as it looks like a new game, rather then the same rerererelease of the original game. These new graphics + the original 151 would = win.

If you ask me, Pokemon was an awesome innovation to gaming. As mentioned before in this thread, it was something fresh and original, and didn't involve the world coming to an end and a hero falling in love with the WHM heroine. Oh yea, and you didn't get the traditional "Haha! all this time you thought that PersonX was the bad guy but it was really me all this time and I'm only making my appearance at the end of the game now fight me!"

considering my SN is lil FLAREON 182, one can tell I used to have a huge love for Pokemon. But like others, Gold/Silver was my last game. These new pokemon look craaaaaazy cool though. Plus the DS touch screen looks fun, the wifi looks like it'll be awesome, etc., etc.,

It's funny because my little brother who's 6 is SO INTO pokemon. I was visiting him last weekend and he was playing fire red version or something and explaining every little aspect of it to me. It was so cute, because he only had his charizard leveled and everything else sucked.

When is this coming out?

it makes you realizes other are slackings.

Gameplay might be decent, but it's annoying when a company is trying to milk money from people by offering the same thing over and over. If they werent selling millions of copy, I would have no problem with the improvement between the game, but it's not the case.

And I know SE is also milking a lot of money out of FF series, I'm just using FF3 because in this case, they are offering a real upgrade.

Fire red is a remake of red with the newer enhancements. I got teh romz, playing leaf green.

God I hope the new pokemon arent retarded. G/S had some bad ones but R/S was almost all lolable.

I still dont see why they have yet to make an MMORPG of this... i mean its the PERFECT enviroment... you create a character pick a starter go out into the world and collect other pokemon, maybe take on some gyms or whatever that new thing is that i never did is, battle some other random encounter trainers and then PvP with everyone else... I dont know i think it would work... the PvP would be killer
