Pocket Monsters Diamond and Pearl

Ya, I found the roms on torrent spy, got both I am pretty sure, but when I drag the files onto my DS emulator (IDeaS) it doesn't run. I try opening it manually too and it still won't run. I am going out a limb here, even though everybody says that there is no stable emulator, has anyone found a way to play the roms without having to buy a DS and flash roms? Or will I just have to be a total nub when I first get my english Diamond?

I found another emulator that says it runs more games, but pokemon diamond and pearl (only games i want to play on it...) dont work yet.

edit: maybe no...? There is a serious lack of cute pokemon this time around. Aserus, Perukia, and Diaruga are pretty sweet though. Definintely going for the penguin as my starter.
