Just wanted to give my two cents regarding the job adjustment details:
First of all RNG, it does indeed sound like they are going to unnerf RNG, but since they had to use terminology like when they first introduced the nerf it sounds like it will be an improvement but not quite as much as what we hope.

Now about DRK it's really funny reading this after I had a nice day yesterday in a burn pt. From my experience drk/nin actually became viable with the addition of absorb-tp in a melee burn. Basically it was possible to do 2 rampages per fight. While it was fun playing a drk like a war/nin, I wouldn't really say it was overpowered. Based on what was said for the update to make the spell time dependent I must agree with others this stresses the strategic part of using it. However I hope this doesn't mean that mobs would be adjusted to spam tp moves more often, now that...would truly suck for this spell

DRG's enough have been said recast and ability enhancements to make the job more useful. We will just have to see how much it actually helps after the patch.

If they eat Meat, it will compensate for the RATK Nerf.
Sounds like either way you still lose something.

So anyway, SAM sure looks good.

Well, the second part of the adjust still does look promising. They said they'll be reducing the negative effect based on distance.

Sounds like the same old bullshit, we will be gimped in one thing no matter what. Without ratk food and berserk rng damage is insanely gimp, but now racc will be insanely low (post-patch racc was broken and did not work at all if you had over 40 racc and merits) so its more of a gimp.

Did you read the part where if you eat sushi you'll be at pre-nerf accuracy?

Wouldn't it be better if they gave DRK and DRG new "fresh" moves instead of toying with the ones they have?

Right now your RACC and RATK is based on Distance from the mob. What they are planning on, from what I can tell. Is adjusting the calculation that this is done. Having your Food and Equipment effect your RACC and RATK directly. While having your distance effect the end result.

Does that make more sense then their jibbah jabbah?

On the contrary, either way you gain something, since without this update you wouldn't be able to compensate for either nerf. Were you expecting them to completely reverse the nerf? Most RNGs I know say they'd be able to cope with the R. Attack loss if they could just hit the damn mob. With the ability to compensate for the R. Acc loss, I think we'll see a lot more RNGs being used in endgame again.

They need to create more cartoon illustrations like they did to explain the new claiming system. :D

If you equipped right you could get at a happy medium these days, now its gonna be one or the other.

I don't think a cartoon would illustrate their calculation well.

Unless they had Shantotto pointing at a chalk board or something.
Man, I bet she'd be a bitch of a math teacher.

But it would have been nice if they showed an example of their numbers in play.

Yes, it's win win, not lose lose.

This update just seems like a little bump to help RNG get back up to where they used to be. Even though that'll never happen. But I think they're sick of hearing us whine, so they tried to do something. There's not really much you can do to fix Rng without totally removing the nerf anyways.

    Sharpshot = Eliminates Distance/Accuracy Nerf.
Flashy Shot = Eliminates Level Difference Nerf.

    So yeah...

My biggest problem with the rng nerf wasn't so much that it ruined rng, it was that it ruined ranged attacks for every other job in the game.

Oh well, if this update turns out good and not bad does that mean rng could be the new best job in the mire

I might be one of the few, but pre-nerf RNG I found utterly stupid, point black shooting an arrow from his bow, melee-ing the mob... that's totally what a RNG would do... NOT! So I wouldn't want to see it return back to the way it was.

SE forced RNG's to stand ranged by the simplest way possible: hurting their DMG if they don't. Though I won't disagree that RNG might have been hit "too hard" (though I know some RNG's who can still put out the numbers) and less would have probably been effective too to attain the goal of RNG's standing at an actual range, cue this patch I guess.

So with that same equip setup, you should have "medium" of either R. Acc. or R. Att., and pre-nerf levels of the other, yea? Sounds better to me.

SAM/RNG would be nice to see again in my opinion.

My problem is the cost to damage ratio. It makes sense to me if you pay to do damage, you should do more damage than a job that doesn't have to pay per attack. Why bother playing Ranger if it costs you to hit a mob for the same/lesser amount of damage?

Ranged Accuracy gear is broken, if they infact "Fix" it in this update your going to be forced to wear pure racc when using ratk food instead of ratk and STR. Tottaly kills the damage

So.... wait for it..... Eat sushi and wear R. Attk gear? Honestly I don't understand why this is even a discussion. Go put on whatever the hell equip you want. Now think of a stat, either R. Acc. or R. Att. Whichever you want. now imagine it magically goes back to pre-nerf levels. Nothing is nerf, just one of RNG's 2 primary stats is put back at pre-nerf levels. You're telling me that somehow that isn't a huge bonus to RNG?
