I like Zelda. I love Zelda. Been playing since the first one.

That said, Okami beats Zelda. It makes it look OLD AND BUSTED.

    <3 Okami
Again, I must disagree. Okami takes things from Zelda time and time again, and by take I don't mean that it is only influenced by Zelda, I mean it blatantly rips it off. Rainbow bridge is the first example that pops into my head. Hi, OOT. Granted, the people that made Minish Cap worked on Okami (I believe), there is no reason for the Okami developers to lack the creativity in order to make up their own ideas.

Who was the first person I thought of when I saw Issun? Navi. What did I think of when I saw the fast running mailman in Shinshu field? The runner/mailman in Hyrule field. What about the inside the Emperor? Oh yeah, that wasn't exactly like Jabu Jabu or anything. Oh, let's not forget about the boy who was actually named Kokiri, lawl.

If you're talking graphics by "old and busted" I could say yes and no. Windwaker was the last console Zelda game, and it was gorgeous. Every aspect of it was amazingly done, the cell shading really was the shit.

Okami is a completely different style of artistry, that is itself phenominal. I could just stare at Okami for hours and never get bored with the amount of detail put into the game, but it never makes the cell shaded style of WW look old or busted.

If you're comparing Okami graphics with that of Zelda for the N64, then just...lol.

I'm an avid Zelda fan, and I love Okami, but I just found too many times thinking "lol zelda!" while playing. Absolutely nothing wrong with that though, I'd play a great zelda ripoff game anyday of the week before a different epic adventure game that sucks. But Okami can't beat Zelda...nothing can beat Zelda.

Havn't played it alot, only an hour or two. Anyways, the camera is so damn annoying. It's always positioned behind you and when you turn around the camera turns with like mach3 speed. To avoid it you need to use the right analog stick all the time(to change the view).

Might just be something I have to get used to...

I don't like to post often, really just lurk and read up on things. (Incredibly amusing things are easily found here x3) But, I love Okami to death. I'm only played a few hours into the game, but the control are smooth and easy to learn, the paint brush is ingenious. I also like the fact that you can 'level up' different attributes for Amaterasu and not depend on just getting new weapons. It's obviously a beautiful game, and the expressions that the wolf gets are very amusing at times.

    Darker Justice: okami
    Spinn180: because
Spinn180: you have to elaborate since I dont know anything about VP2
Darker Justice: the zelda gameplay is a lot more fun
Darker Justice: and it's a more enjoyable ride. I can only play VP2 for a couple hours at a time. Okami I didn't want to put down until I finished it
Asked my friend who is currently playing VP2 for ya Po. He just finished Okami the other day when I did, so there's his suggestion.

I love VP with all my heart and soul, everyone's different. If I had to choose I'd pick VP2 because well, I'm a big fan. I've heard VP2 is such an improvement and personally I can't wait for VP, but I can wait for Okami.

But there you have it, that opinion thing kicks in =\

Yeah, I've never played VP before so I couldn't say which to get or not. VP2 looks amaaaaazing though! I just don't have the money to buy Okami, VP2, and FF12 in the same month + Wii next month like you said! VP2 gets the shaft from me.

Have you gotten it yet? I never played the first one but I've played VP2 some now and I'm really suprised. The battle system is really fun so far, it's very smooth and fast. Possibly one of the best RPGs I've played in a long time.

I haven't gotten VP2, but VP1 had a great battle system, simple yet it was complex too, VP2 changes it a bit, essentially it's the same system once you're up close, VP2 just adds a lot more depth and complexity at longer range. Again it's what you like, only thing that sucks is having so many great games come out in such a short span, MY WALLET CAN'T KEEP UP!

well i think it's not really "don't wanna learn about it" but rather people know all too well of those folklores and everyone has their own perception and ideas about the stories and when somebody else tells it differently they reject it

kinda like how novels get adapted into movies and people who liked the novels usually don't like the movies

I was reading EGM today and they said one of the only problems w/ Okami was the lack of lock on targeting while fighting, what do you think?

the fights are so easy you don't need targeting...and if you click R3 the camera always goes directly infront of you, so you can just find what monster you're looking for that way.

So I just watched the video review on gametrailers.com and I did not realize this was the same company that did Viewtiful Joe, but it looks just like it which is awesome. I cannot wait to go home and play it now.
When I watched all the action all the fighting and slashing in mid-air and shit was just like VJ.
