Good to see you view the game in a more positive light xav, a few months after you and everyone said it would suck because it had a new director.![]()

all i have to say to that guy is WTF ARE YOU ON?!?Originally Posted by Mysterio
Yazmat (the 50mil HP boss) took me 9 freaking hours to kill on the JP version, and he's no joke, he can wipe you out if you're not careful with your "Autoplay"
ninja edit: oh and the final summon fight is hella hard too ¬_¬ bosses get full barrier half-way through the game and when it goes down you have like 2 seconds to issue a command that can actually do damage (Like Mist Knacks)
PS: are they still called Mist Knacks in the US version
My favourite thing is the fact that you can actually see the time that went into translating the game. At this point it's not even translation anymore, they're taking what needs to be communicated and basically writing their own dialogue, complete with random english and scottish accents.
It's not even remotely comparable to any of the older games in terms of translation, the voice acting is actually decent (except for the Marquis guy's random german/jamaican accent?) and the battle system is a lot of fun and reminds me often of FFXI in a good way. Gambits honestly make it to the point where it seems like you're playing with a whole separate group of people (and getting annoyed when they aggro mobs or set off traps or run up and hit the level 50 mob you don't stand a chance on).
I'm only like 20 hours in but it's definitely addicitively playable.
/sigh
Sounds good. I've been against this game from the start because I hate the character design, but I might be able to live with it for a solid FF main-series entry after the shite that was FFX-2.![]()
I still think SE is going to Fail City since Sakaguchi is gone... I'll wait and see on FFXII.
The dude who designed the gameplay in Vagrant Story is doing it for 12, so you know it's going to be good quality.
March 2007 over here for release... I love England... all wet, rainy, cold and has cruddy release schedules for stuff.
Seriously, Kingdom Hearts2 (yes I'm a big kid I'll admit it) only came out over here last weekend.

I went to http://www.mod-chip.com spent $25 on their CD/DVD boot disk and little "tools" to defeat the sensors, didn't have to solder anything thanks to having a later style PS2...up and running in 10 minutes. It's worth $25 to be able to try any game before I decide it's worth buying.
Look around for "Swap Magic 3", but you still need to override the 3 sensors, and since there's an installation manual online that tells you how to do it (good enough), you can probably do it for free if you're desperate enough.
The game looks very nice, I have to think that is the LONGEST INTRO KNOWN TO MANKIND
I think the longest intro to a game I've played was Kingdom Hearts 2....getting to the main character took hours. Ugh.Originally Posted by Raineer
you know what sux about ff12? you actually have to camp those god damn NMs (rare monsters) and chests... and they don't even fuckin drop the thing you want 100% and some of them reminds me of fuckin LoO camping
seriously doubt i'm gonna go back and play it again on english version
you're confusing 'HAVE TO' and 'feel an irrational need to due to my FFXI addiction'Originally Posted by GRT
You don't really have to do most of that.
you might be right, but it's not really "due to my FFXI addiction" cuz i've always tried to collect all the best weapon/armor in most of the RPGs i've played in the past, and FF12 in that aspect is 50 times more retarded than anything i've seen (except for FFXI but that's a MMO >.>)Originally Posted by Correction

My ps2 totally sucks, but runs other games fine ._.
Looks like i get to wait till march!
Complexity rising with game graphics is actually something I desire. Getting every quest/killing every mob in Oblivion is comparable. The annoying part in FFXII is that chocobos aren't very useful in getting from place to place and before long the character runspeed gets grating as you search around the zone for stuff. My kingdom for a dash ability.Originally Posted by GRT
I guess it all started with 'well, if I can put up with breeding chocobos for Knights of the Round and the colosseum for Omnislash in FFVIII can put up with this.' Before you knew it Rockstar put 100 hidden packages in Grand Theft Auto III and now we have to hunt HNMs in single player console games. Ever play Monster Hunter? :D
At least my chocobo in FFVII didn't decide it hated me and run away like my one in FFXI did!
