Should have pre-order'd it from EBgames or Gamestop. Also apparently their little 'update' you have to go threw is making the EA master server making everyone Disconnect a lot which is really pissing me off but it's fun playing the other maps though

Well I think they fixed the main server because I didn't DC at all last night. It only seem to do it during Belgade(sp) map also @the white paper;

the ads are ingame on walls or buildings.
most of them are damaged or half destryoed so they are not really eye catchers.

the nationalcheeseemporium.org link was an interesting read though, but hardly something to get in arms over, unless you are the overly paranoid type (most of the information sent is hardly "private").

Well, I was on the fence with this but all this adware stuff makes it a definite no. Especially at the price tag. Even if it's only slightly noticable, it just is a very unsavory act to do. Good luck returning opened PC software anywhere as well. "DO NOT INSTALL THIS GAME" ... well what the fuck else are you gonna do with it after you buy it and get that delightful white card?

meh, it's not so bad sols. it's not like pop-ups will invade your game or desktop. and as schuldigGER and Insane said, you won't even have time to really notice them (unless it's an ad for something like Maxim or FHM -- that would be funny).

still gonna install my copy (if it ever gets here).

In-game ads (on walls and shit) are actually kind of cool, which I don't mind... what's irking me is the spyware that is logging my IP and shit. If it was just the ads, oh fkn well... but I'm installing gayware onto my own system. No, sorry. =\ I *really* wanted to play this, too.

I would wait a bit to get the game to be honest..

I installed it today...its a really fun game, but at the same time, ive been fucked out of maybe 500 rank points and im unable to rank up from the current rank im in. (Displays 350/120 for my rank...)

Also, I d/c'd out of a majority of the games i was in, i wish there were still some good demo servers up

this forum is logging your IP too btw. any website you visit logs your IP, it's nothing new. :wink:

I was fine with paying 40 bucks for Gran Turismo 3's ads. At least seeing brands like Castrol/Yokohama tires adds to the atmosphere because they're not out of context.

But a game where you're blowing up robots does not need ads for diet coke and sci-fi channel. I don't need to pay fifty bucks for the privilege either. I already hate most cineplexes for charging me 15-16 bucks for a seat and still putting me through 10 minutes of advertising each time I go to a theater, I'm not about to tolerate the same behavior from video game makers. And I don't want software publishers putting this little gotcha INSIDE the box, since once I've opened it Gamestop generally won't refund my money.

Yeah, I love seeing present day ads... in the futureeeeeee. No, fuck EA. They are selling ads without lowering the price of games.
