Could have been a "virus" or something else, but yeah, it might also be a simple blood sample/vaccine like the one they took in 2nd season. It's just that I believe they gave too much importance to the bandaid for a simple "blood sample"Originally Posted by Imitarate
I didn't see the episode yet (so looks like the polar bear came from a zoo?), but I always thought the polar bear came from Walt's mind...Originally Posted by Byrd
You know, I think it's in season 1, the episode about Micheal/Walt story, how the kid been adopted by another dude: when his parents are talking in this house, and ignoring him, he's reading a book about birds, and then he went upset, and all of a sudden, a bird fell in front of the window, dead...
Then, on the island, he was upset against his father (Micheal) and he himself made the polar bear (the second one, who attacked him in the forest, not the one killed by Sawyer) appeared, because he had read a spanish comic...
Also, it was explaining why the Others wanted him so much... Because he had this sort of "power".
And, did they mentioned anything about the "shadow" you see at the end of season 1, when John Locke is going to fall in that hole, and Jack throw a dynamite inside?
Heh... how ironic would it be for this all to be one giant sociology experiment.Cause Dharma study animal according to the video. We don't know what they are studying exactly, but we know they are studying human/animal behavior in many differents situations
I think it was a truth serum or something along those lines, basically due to the fact that juliette knew all that info about Jack. I guess the other's could have supernatural powers, but that would be lame imo.Could have been a "virus" or something else, but yeah, it might also be a simple blood sample/vaccine like the one they took in 2nd season. There is definitively more than that with all the abnormal stuff going out there, but they are studying their behavior for sure, or at least, the island was used for that. There is probably some messed up guys who is trying to make human race evolve or something.Originally Posted by Quicklet
Doubt they wrote that huge pile of paper when jack was under the influence of a truth serum, but again, they might fake about knowing so much (might just have repeated a couple of line he said during his sleep).I think it was a truth serum or something along those lines, basically due to the fact that juliette knew all that info about Jack. However, I believe they already had that info from the start.
I'm more inclined to believe that the Others are worried about making sure that their prisoners haven't contracted whatever virus/disease that they seem so worried about (the two previous inhabitants of the hatch were worried about going outside without hazmat suits, the aussie girl's baby needing a vaccination, Russo's crew going insane). I'd say it's more likely that a blood sample was drawn to test for whatever this might be.I think it was a truth serum or something along those lines, basically due to the fact that juliette knew all that info about Jack. The suit part was bs. The guy was just lying to steal the boat and run away alone. You could deduce that from the big hole on the suit.Originally Posted by bigfreakinlion
uh I thought it was pretty obvious they took blood samples from jack and kate...
Anyway, what I want to know is, how could they eat that fish biscuit and not make a grossy ew face, it had to have been stale/nasty tasting. I mean who the hell eats fish flavored cookies made for bears and enjoys it? Oh, and all that corn that came out... yeah bears don't eat corn.
Also, what about that damn shadow monster thing pulling people into holes in the ground, did they forget about that? Maybe the shadow monster eats the corn.
I don't think the series is doomed just yet but if they want to make it 5 seasons... I don't think it will last. I did like the premier for the most part though.
I think the virus is a scare tactic and doesn't really exist... and what if Russo is ONE OF THEM OMG. Think about it, why would Henry, the LEADER of all the others get caught in a net. He has other "others" to do his dirty work for him. Maybe it was a setup! And I think that kid in the other cage is one of the others as well.Originally Posted by Kaylia

Maybe because, when you're hungry as sh-t, didn't eat anything in several days (don't know how much time passed since season 2-3) you can eat anything?Originally Posted by Almaa
They already answered this: Ben (the leader) told John Locke he wanted to meet him, in one of the last eiposdes of season 2.Originally Posted by Almaa
Awesome episode~
Maybe fish biscuit doesnt taste that bad?Originally Posted by Almaa
Shadow monsters is going to come back in a couple of episodes from what I heard. No clue if you will actually hear more about it. The only thing I think they might have drop is the giant from first episode who ate the pilot. I dont see how they could give a real explanation for this one.
Series isnt doomed for sure, it wont suddently lose all the rating it had, and even if it do, there will still be enough people to keep it on TV. I guess there will be a few more fillers mid season, but the progress was pretty constant from the beginning.
I thought that was the smoke thing that ate the pilot?Originally Posted by Kaylia
At least that's just what I always figuered.

Pretty sure you just see the pilot fly off and sort of a shadow type thing.Originally Posted by Kaylia
Yup, lots of shadows, no clear view of any smoke, but definitely no hand either. Whatever it was sure rolled the plane around like it was nothing, however, and seemed to have problems figuring out how to get at them. I remember being strongly reminded of the airplane scene from Jurassic Park 3. I've always assumed the smoke "monster" was the same thing responsible for the pilot's death, but who knows? Whatever tried to drag Locke into the ground at the end of the Season One certainly didn't have the raw physical power of whatever tore the pilot apart.Originally Posted by Unklemonkey

Locke was blabbering on about how he would have been ok and everything, and how Jack should have just let him go. I just assumed that he knew what he was talking about since he had run into it before (When they were first hunting the boar and michael got sliced by the husks and the thing came around) at least I think that was it lolOriginally Posted by Kaylia
Perhaps. I do remember thinking it was almost like something was harvesting the trees. I also remember that from the very first episode of the series, when they are at the beach and they see something huge moving through the trees at the beach's edge.Originally Posted by Kaylia
The whole monster plot line seems like something they don't really know how to deal with. Almost like their thought when proposing the series to the network execs was "Hey, let's put a bunch of people (some of whom look good in very little clothing) on a deserted jungle island with a monster running around, and a polar bear, and a crazy French woman, and see what happens!" And now they've developed this whole other storyline with the Hanso Foundation and the Others, and have no idea what the hell to do with the monster that's mostly fallen off the radar.
They did say it was a type of security system (I believe it was the french chick that said that) in like the first season, maybe early second season.
