New Mercenary Ranks and Assault Missions (10/05/2006)

two groups can be in the same mission at the same time, but they cannot start at the same time.

my assault static would break up into teams of 3 sometimes and we would have to wait 1-2 minutes after the first group went in before the second could (doing the same mission)

You are ignoring the small fact that I am sitting with dozens of repeats at LC/C rank that I have been spamming since mid August.
I have an assault static, and we meet twice a week. On an average week each member likely gains 6 LC/C repeats. (Sometimes 7, but other times 5 if they came late)
7 weeks, 6 repeats per, say 50%LC/50%C. So round down and say we have 20 LC and 20 C repeats.
If SE doesn't change the rank up requirements, or institute a break in counting lower rank repeats, those 20 C repeats already count towards 4 S rank wins. Add in my LC repeats, and all the repeats from SP/PFC/PSC, they all carry forward as long as you eventually get all the wins for the previous ranks.

I should require 1-2 S wins max to rank up to SM.

right now it's x/25. the patch release will make it x/35. most people who have been doing Assaults are now at 25/25.

if you use your four tags on the first day, you'll be at 29/35, you'll still need one more Assault to be at 30/35, which will let you do the last rank up quest.

you're assuming because you have repeats you're somehow at 26/25 right now. somehow i don't think it works like that.

A static member ranked up to Corporal after the last patch with only 2 LC wins.

He had primarily spammed Lamia 13, which isn't even SP. Since he had dozens of wins they did pull forward and make a difference. (He did also have SP repeats).

Repeats at lower ranks DO count to towards future rank ups currently.
I will admit, we don't know for sure if that will continue into S/SM.

Apparently you arent understanding how ranks up go, I'll break it down to you so its really simple.

-you need 25 points per rank to get the CS required to start the quest for the next rank

-no matter what rank you are, beating any assault mission for the first time = 5 points, repeat wins = 1 point

-once you receive the next rank i.e.: moving from LC to C, all points you had clear to 0, even if you had 100/25, you only need 25 to get the CS, the other 75 are null

P.S. This is in reference to you thinking you'll be SgtM on the 1st day (not possible), while all of us with 25+/25 saved up, we would rank up to Sgt on patch day, but soonest anyone can rank up to SgtM would be day 2 when 5th tag becomes available.

I dont do assaults because I'd rather waste 3 hours every day in aery instead of doing a 15 minute event just because it doesnt drop ridill.

All assault gear sucks ass because it doesnt drop off a HNM that spawns every 3-10 days.

I'm as big an assault fan as they come but even I got tired of it. Gonna finish up the last rank tier of assaults just so I'm ready for the update then maybe farm for my amir boots but if there's no new rewards from it, directly from the assaults or from the guards it's worthless >_>

I had over 30k points for Ilrusi Atoll built up, and nothing to get with it, so I decided to just get Pahluwan body for my RDM on those rare occasions I go RDM/NIN and solo something.

Umm, I do believe I WILL get Sgt on patch day. (if I figure out the quest).

SgtM was the debate, and I guess I was just unaware that repeat points are blanked when you rank up. No problem, sorry for the confusion.
