    Linkshell Guild Halls

    Bored at work so here it is....

    So lets say instead of entering your Moghouse you had an option to enter your linkshell base of operations.

    What kind of things/Items/Npc's would you like to see in your Linkshell base?

    Also since we currently have a lack of tools for linkshell management in game, what type of management tools would you like to see you guild base contain?

    I'll post my ideas later but want to see others ideas first.

    Reminds me of Guild Wars. Last time I logged in that game and went into the Guild I'm in, there was the typical NPCs that sold the same items needed in game (synth items, runes for upgrades... etc.).

    Wouldn't they just pull the PS2 Limitations card out?

    That was my big one. I prolly have a few people out there who have pearls I wish didn't.

    I also though about a viewable linkshell safe, where members could view items in the LS bank. Or even take them out of the LS bank for a set time period, 3 days or something, to use while leveling a 2nd job.

    Also, a bunch of funiture would be awsome.

    The whole not being able to see a list of who has your linkpearl and having to drop and remake if you suspect someone still has one has been broken since day 1. Maybe it's "PS2 limitations." Ask Sage Sundi though because he won't know.

    Also, I dunno if this has anything to do with the hall, but having two channels on your LS would be cool as well. One for members, and one only sacks/officers could see. That way if something drops you can discuss it quickly and make a decision.

    In the hall I would expect to be able to have some sort of trophy case with different trophies for accomplishments within your LS.

    Another cool idea is a sort of boxing ring, where you could do a Diorama style PvP for fun against an LS mate, and everyone could watch and talk.

    Another thing is you could do a hard quest and gain access to prototypes. An up and coming LS could do a quest and be given a Fafnir or Wyrm style prototype that fights just like it's real counterpart, and you don't lose EXP while "practicing" on it, and can pop it at anytime and play around with it.

    Yet another idea I just got is to be able to use furnishings like in your moghouse, but they give bonuses to anyone with your linkpearl on. Some furnishings only drop from new HNM's in Aht Urgan, and have a SE-style horrendous drop rate, but give ridill-like bonuses (not the same hitting bonus, but something of equal badassness).

    Also, you could get a key-item and trade a kraken club or osode, and make that item "LS property." It can be rented by an LS member, when approved by a leader/sackholder, and stays in their inventory for a set amount of time, the choices being 1 day, 3 days, 1 week and so on. After the rent is up, it is removed from their inventory, and has to be approved by a sack to be rented again, or it could be renewed if approved.

    All I want is an announcement (that can be filtered, of course) of when a character equips the pearl. Not only would leaders know who has a pearl that shouldn't, but people who log on and "afk" when they realize we're in the middle of an event they don't want to go to.

    Yah, I would love this, having to remake pearls has been a giant pain in the ass from day one.

    I love these ideas Dank.

    I think even easier than having 2 channels would be to have a "/o" chat or something like that where only officers in your currently equipped ls can use and only they can see, perhaps in a different color text etc. That would simplify things greatly and I don't think it'd be horribly hard to implement.

    Linkshell bonuses from items/unlocked statuses or something of that nature would add a whole new sense of teamwork to linkshells as well. Perhaps they'd be from defeating some hnm and last a certain duration of time (to give replay value to the fights).

    The prototype idea would be incredible, especially for those people who play mostly because they enjoy the big fights (as opposed to epeen gear acquisition). I can't see SE EVER doing this, however, because they'd lose players who would leave the game alot faster having done all the cool things they wanted to get out of this game in much less time.

    I really don't know much about it, but I've heard some games have mirrored private servers that have been designed for people to do these kinds of things? I feel like having something like that to practice fight strategies etc would be tons of fun, but would also spell an end to the game's longevity very quickly.


    Another possibility would be to have some sort of schedule board, and a ToD board, so members on ps2/not windowing could check information on their own via that alternative.

    Hey maybe they could limit it to once a week you could pop your prototype. I just like the idea because my LS is made of some newer players and I am a seasoned player. It would be fun to go into these fights with no exp loss and just show them what happens when the BLM casts Burst II on "Fafnir prototype's" tail. Because you know how alot of people are more visual learners.

    I also like that idea of the enhancement wearing off. That way an LS could go kill x monster and get the enhancement for the week, and when it wears off, it would give them incentive to do the battle again. Maybe even give a furnishing a enchantment style bonus, so you could get the furnishing, then only use it on the big fights, like a furnishing with Magic defense bonus and you could pop that before you kill JoL and AV, and have less problems with aeroga. Stuff like that would add some strategy and replayability. It would require LSes to think about what enhancement they want for a fight and fight stuff in progressive order.

    ya thats kinda a fun idea, even something small like a 5% exp Bonus would be kewl too.

    Fixed for clarity . But the breaking fo the pearl would be really nice. couple of smartasses and shit heads in my LS that I wanan get rid of, but they are never on when IM on >_>

    It sort of reminds me of the old days in my linkshell when teamspeak was sort of like officer chat due to the poor numbers that would log on it due to "playing on the PS2".

    I'd agree with SE never doing anything and I'd agree with it losing too many players. The solution to this obviously would be adding new content with better rewards that makes old stuff obsolete. However, two expansions and not just patches have proven otherwise for the most part. Certain MMORPGs add new content that is harder and has better rewards (for the most part) roughly every 6 months.

    I think if they had a linkshell hall then they could include a treasury option where the treasury wasn't on a specific mule.

    The idea would be to trade items or gil to an NPC who would store the item for you, and only designated people such as the shell holder or sack holder can make deposits/withdrawals, but that same deposit/withdrawal information would be available to every linkshell member (sort of like AH history) so you can make sure officers aren't ripping the LS off.

    It could also set up a series of checks/balances where you'd have to have at least one other officer/sack partied up to make a withdrawal. Sort of like bank account vaults where two people have a key and you both need to turn it at the same time to gain access to it.

    It would serve a few purposes:

    1. People who own bank mules (like Stanislav) wouldn't be able to run off with the LS earnings.

    2. Eliminates the chance that SE mistakes an LS bank mule as an RMT gil holder and bans the account.

    3. Any member can view a transaction list to make sure the holdings in the bank are legit...offer up a balance sheet with dates and times.

    On a side note, I think they should add another mode to linkshell chat that lets shell/sack holders communicate with one another, instead of partying up separately or talking in /tell.
