I'm a die hard Yankee fan

It sucks that we lost, but that is why they play all the games and not give the World Series trophy to the highest payroll

One thing that i'm seeing thru all these posts is that Yankees hog all the players (old/upcoming/in there prime) and they have a Huge Payroll

There is no Salary Cap (there is Luxury Tax), hence you can spend as much as you like but a % of your profit go to smaller teams

Most OWNERS in the MLB are out for 1 thing MONEY $$$$
(MLB = business)
If they cared enough for World Championship.. they should spend their money to get good players, but they would rather pocket the money


The reason Florida won both World series is due to the trickery from the Owner and using the fans and MLB

He would stock up players (good ones quickly Mid-Salary type) and bum rush a Championship in 4-6 years and repeat the process

1997 Florida Marlins were ridiculous, but when next year rolled around they obiliterated the whole team and traded 3/4 of the roster

Same thing happened in 2003

Yes most Yankee fans are spoiled, 26 Championship is still kinda Incredible

To put it into Perspective:

Yankees Have won 26 and lost 13
The second team with most World Series is St. Louis with 9
That means the Yankees have 4 more losses than the second best record in wins in the world series


Gotta give props to George (will always be an ass; a Smart-Ass)
He bought the team for 10 million in the early 70's now they are worth around 1.5 billion talk about an increase in % overall

I realize that, as a Yankees fan, you're kind of spoiled. But winning a World Series twice in six years is a pretty damn good accomplishment, IMHO, I don't care how you do it.
