Needs more Planescape: Torment.

Morrowind
Oblivion was a huge let down as far story is concerned, but every game in the Elder Scrolls has had a lot of depth in terms of history and culture.
Maybe, but the final boss was one of the best villians that has ever been in a video game.Originally Posted by MikedeeFenrir
Surely you don't mean Kefka. I hated him and not because he was a good villain. Seifer from FVIII was a much better 'villain' in that by the end he was actually kind of tragic for choosing the losing side. Kefka was just 'LOL I'M INSANE AND EVIL HA HA HA HAHA.' Golbez rules them both IMO :DOriginally Posted by Septimus
Very true, he def. was evil, and funny :3Originally Posted by Septimus

His laugh puts chills down my spine, even in it's midi glory. Kefka wins based solely on the fact he's one of the few villians to ever actually succeed in destroying the world.
I agree with Kross though, the Fallout games had an amazing storyline, and any list of top RPG stories definetly needs to include Xenogears.
ooo good call, forgot that oneOriginally Posted by solsovly

gtfo w/ FFVIII. I loved Kefka, I just thought the final fight could be a little bit tougher - -;;Originally Posted by Correction
That's all. I just hope they explain Shadow's past in the remake![]()
I don't think its rare anymore. They reprinted them a while back as greatist hits. Theres a bunch on ebay for only $20ish including shipping.Originally Posted by neighbortaru

There is but one Chrono Trigger, do not bring false plots before it.
Currently playing FF6 and the plot is intriguing, I have to say that of all the Videogame Villains I've ever come accross Kefka is by far the best. Unlike every other villain with their back-stories, tragic pasts etc...Kefka is just a fucking nutter. That's it; He's a psycho. And that's what makes him so awesome.
Disgea was ace with all its endings and great character development.
MGS 1 and 3 were brilliantly put together; Plot character, all of it as far as I'm concerned.
Beyond Good and Evil I thought was nice. A simple yet satisfying plot.
Shadow of The Colossus. The plot is purely implied, there's no explenation at all to the game, you're thrown straight in and its never explained, and it just works so well.
Also: Chains of Promathia first plot that impressed me in a good while, glad I finished it.
Wish I'd finished Vagrant Story and Star Ocean: Till the End of Time though. Nice starts but I just lost interest.
And I like the FF7 plot. Despite all the plot holes, unexplained events, sporadic characterisation and what-not; it's an epic plot; Just a bit of a shame it collapses into itself in such a drastic manner, SE tried too hard on that one.
Don't forget exdeath from FFV. Technically he only destroyed the two worlds by combining them into the third world...Originally Posted by Krandor
And my vote goes to Star Ocean 3. The other two have good stories too, although the first one is pretty obscure over here.
Anyone play legend of loldragoon. I really liked that storyline.
Kefka=best videogame villain ever. He is a classic textbook sociopath...no other explanation needed. There's nothing to make him more human, nothing to explain his nature...it's perfect.
However, in all honesty, my favorite story is the Chrono series (yes, series...I actually find Cross to be the better game).
Personally I find the story in all 3 Star Ocean games to be fairly awful <.<; But I still absolutely adore them (2 and 3 at least, 1 is kind of meh) because the combat system in those games is amazing.Originally Posted by Charla
Well, there's that one guy in Vector that tells you "Kefka was one of the first experimental magitek knights, and something snapped in him when he got the infusion." That sounds like explaining his nature to me.Originally Posted by edgarfigaro
And yes, Legend of Dragoon is another of my favorite plots ever.
I didn't mind the plot of SO3. Although the AI on that game was horrid at times. I kind of laugh at the plot on star ocean 2 though. It has some really bad moments, but the rest of the game was pretty good.Originally Posted by Krandor
Except the voice acting. That will make your ears bleed. (Anybody remember the Chisato or that girl with the robot?)
Xenogears. Nothing else needs to be said.
