"Hey Larry! Put down that report on bin Laden's whereabouts and let's go hop in the Mystery Machine with Scooby and the Gang to solve the Creepy Caper of the Missing Manteel!"

Yeah, that does sound kind of funny. Didn't SE just release something about an exploit that dealt with messages over POL? You could tell POL that was how you were hacked, a flaw in THEIR system.

I mean, we know how you probably lost your stuff. Its a sad thing that went on in your LS ; ; But, that doesn't mean SE knows that.

    3. Coincidence that his sub-net is tied to the solitary log-in he made to your char to rape it?
    4. He more than likely logged off your char and right back on his, all under the same sub-net.

So how can SE be so callous as to say it's your responsibility when it's blatantly obvious (assuming the above is true) that it wasn't you who gave away all your stuff? Pisses me off to see this kinda shit pulled by them, even if it's someone I don't know, because I can empathize with how angry and frustrated you must be at this moment. Just another nail in the coffin for SE and its piss-poor customer service.
I'm gonna take a stab in the dark and give SE some credit. I don't think they're "ignorant" about this per say. They don't take this line beause they can't do anything about it, I think they probably don't want to do anything about it. Look at it this way, theoretically, if SE turn around and recover 1 stolen account or item, then they have to do it for another and another and another. If SE take the same policy with everyone - that is, saying they can't do anything about it - then they won't get bothered with people claiming their account was hacked or items stolen. It's too much work for them and it would cost money to have to go through accounts and find these things or prove the person had the item in the first place and track where it went. You're always gonna get some scumbag players contacting SE and saying they had a Ridill etc "stolen" when they never had one in the first place. If SE had to go through and check every time someone did this, it would waste resources and time. If they can stick up a msg every 4 months saying "don't download 3rd party tools, don't give your account info out to anyone" and you get screwed over, they can just saying "you're fucked" and call it a day. It saves them time (and more importantly) money.

Then again, it could just be PS2 limitations d(^.^)b
